Will Ferrell takes a road trip with a longtime friend who has recently come out as trans.

When I first heard about this movie on Netflix, I cringed.

I visualized a combination of Ron Burgundy and Elf riding across our country with Priscilla, queen of the desert.

What I saw last night was a thoughtful discussion of our shared predicaments.

The documentary presented an elderly transwoman who had suffered greatly for absolutely no reason other than willful ignorance and bigotry.

During their trip across the country, the producers appear to be wearing rose-colored glasses. Then, they go to Texas and stark reality hits.

Shortly after that, the transwoman reveals the extent she was willing to go to facilitate her need to be feminine.

There's a lot of good humor. More importantly, you come away with the understanding that the transwoman is sane and a productive member of society who should be valued.

They were in the UK

Both appeared on a recent edition of the "One Show", a light news/entertainment program on BBC1.

I too cringed when I heard them introduced but I became impressed by the way the whole interview was handled.

I have not seen the actual program.

It's on Netflix but I don't think it's anywhere else except maybe the Sundance Festival if they have a stream for the public.

This is not an ad.

There was a very positive review in The i.

As such I mentioned it in the latest episode of Bike. Sadly no matter how good the material is, it is still up against Trump, who seems to get dumber by the day, so why do people vote for him, they are all morons.
