Weather outside's been keeping me drowsy, but that's no excuse not to do another round of...
Whether it's rain, snow, sleet, or shine, sometimes the weather brings out the best -- or worst -- in people. So, for this time around, I'd like to see recommendations of stories where a weather event plays a major roles in the goings-on, whether that be rain soaking the protagonist and leaving them in need of dry clothing, a snow storm leaving a group of people stuck and bored, a tornado's devastation pushing an unexpected change of one's living situation, or anything else!
As usual, try to avoid stories with too much sexual content, and I would prefer to see stories that are either completed or actively being worked on.
A lot of folks have taken these posts as an opportunity to hype their own work. That's great! But a big part of these posts is meant to serve as a reading list of older stories people might enjoy, but may have missed, so if you know of a classic from another author, feel free to share it, either here or on any of the older posts!

Glad To See You Taking A Stand.
Most of what I have been reading is not for children. Lately, I have been writing pornography, though I used to write very conservatively. I agree that this needs to be a safe site. The explicit ones are abundant.
Some of the good writers, like 'Melanie Brown' seem to use Kindle or something that doesn't make me do a lot of formatting. A couple I've seen recently are too fiddly and hard to see. It is too much effort to read them.
Thanks
Gwen
Not an older story . . .
In fact, it’s a new story, by a new author. But when I read your first paragraph I immediately thought of Marissa Lynn’s wonderful short story Snowed In, from our recent New Year’s contest. Great characters!

Bobby's Rainy Day Adventure
BOBBY'S RAINY DAY ADVENTURE by Heather Rose Brown
https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/fiction/917/bobbys-rainy-day-...
is one of the first stories I read here at BCTS back in 2007, and still one of my favorites.
Being caught in the rain and getting soaked after falling in a puddle is the start of a 4th grader's journey of friendship and self-discovery. A very sweet + moving little tale...
But my favorite meteorological story of all time is BARTHOLEMEW & THE OOBLECK
by Dr. Suess. It's not TG (tho' that could be interesting) but a cautionary tale about how an arrogant king's demand for some new type of weather leads to a sticky situation that imperils the whole kingdom:

What borders on stupidity?
Canada and Mexico.

Thanks Laika!
I'm so glad you liked my story, Laika! I've read a few Dr Suess books, but don't think I've ever seen Bartholemew & The Oobleck. I'll have to look for it! :)
First Story...
...that comes to mind is a short story from 2015 by D.L. "Radio Call". (https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/fiction/59732/radio-call)
(I wonder what happened to D.L.; we lost him in mid-story in 2017. Actually, his Track page shows that he responded to a blog entry on 3/25/2018. Nothing since, AFAIK.)

Thank you for recommending this story……
I just finished reading it. I am trying to type this through tears, so if I misspell something, please forgive me.
This was a wonderful story with a happy ending - but I wish there was more of an epilogue. I would like to know what happened with Macie’s parents, and of course the girl who outed her and obviously had regrets later on.
Any additional recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

Dum Vivimus, Vivamus
One by Bailey Summers; and one by Amethyst
https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/fiction/65400/apocalypse-snow
Briefly, a Big Rock hits Earth and throws us into Loo-ooong Bad Winter. MC survives alone in well-equipped cabin. Finds (via 'ham' radio) a nearby friend and they visit.

Post-Apocolyse, no nukes, but I forget cause.) Snow Bengal takes out a Demon in winter, just before winter Solstice. Gets recruited into Angel Corps. The rest of the weather is Mother Darkness (MD) raining her Demon Seeds everywhere. She wants off-Earth as much as the (mostly) humans want MD gone, but she is blocked. Now, how are the Angels gonna help MD get off-Earth?
The first one
The first one that came to mind was "Snowed out" by Shawna Stimple. But she's gone both from FM (where I'd read the story) and from here.
She returned
She posts here under a new name:

I already recommended this
I already recommended this story in the 1st recommendation, but the Amadeus Irena stories comes into my mind. At the start of the story there is a snowstorm that gets the skirt flowing. If it wasn't a fiction it would be a nice case study for nature Vs nurture in a TG kid. My only critique of that story is that it is a bit repetitive due to the story being told from a lot of different points of views. Unfortunately it is Amazon exclusive now but if you have a subscription it definitely worth a read: https://www.amazon.com/Amadeus-Irina-3-book-series/dp/B08NWV...
An outstanding series…….
I read this some time back, and thoroughly enjoyed all three books. I would recommend this series to anyone who has not had the pleasure of reading them.

Rain.....Typical!
By Kristina LS. Qualifies in spades. One from the archives in 2007, and very atmospheric.
Sorry I missed this blog first time round, Mel.
