Sophie Mary Wilson CBE FRS FREng DistFBCS was born Roger Wilson; June 1957.
Wilson underwent surgery and transitioned in 1994.
She is an English computer scientist, a co-designer of the Instruction Set for the ARM architecture. Wilson first designed a microcomputer during a break from studies at Selwyn College, Cambridge.

In the 80's micro computer boom, she worked for Acorn computers. She was one of the main designer of the Acorn and BBC micros
In the UK there was a huge rivalry between Sinclair and Acorn. Most kids had the ZX Spectrum(sold as the Timex I believe in the USA) or a C64. The BBC micro was used by schools in the UK.
