I am going to take a short break and therefore give me time to read all the excellent submissions for the current contest.
I'll be back posting in early February and have a full backlog for the rest of the year all lined up, 'you lucky people'.
{you have to be of a certain age and nationality to know the origins of that last phrase}
Keep those excellent works coming.

I had to look up your reference……
I am neither from the correct country, or quite “of an age” - close, but no cigar as the saying goes.
But I do consider myself to be one of the lucky people. Lucky to be burdened by the plethora of contest submissions that I, like you, am being “forced” to wade through; and lucky that I will be “forced” to read more of your work in 2024.
I look forward to seeing your new work in this new year that is upon us.

I resemble that remark
Since it was uttered two weeks before my birth and in my grandmother's homeland, I will lay claim to being one of "You Lucky People".
I echo your remarks D., I am looking forward to the deluge from the backlog. :DD TAF

"You lucky people"
was a phrase used by an old comic/entertainer called 'Tommy Trinder'

I had the right country
Don’t try to confuse me with the truth. He lent his catchphrase to the movie by the same name that was released 8/18/55. You’re a peach Samantha. lol
