As with some characters from her stories, she simply does not remember the larger portion of her first 10 years of life. She has had quite a number of jobs over the years, including:
Fuller Brush sales associate, Grocery store post-purchase transportation baggage, US Navy, Meteorologist, Departmental Secretary, Government contractor, Consultant and others -- including a staffer for Kelly Temporary Services (though, then, it was known as "Kelly Girl" instead). She wrote a three-act play in 1971 and never wrote fiction again until 2008. "You know," she says, "it's fun."

  Q&A Interview   Stand Alone Works

BCTS: How long've you been writing TG fiction?

AMcG: I started about 2 weeks before I posted the first chapter of "Who Was I".

BCTS: Do you write any non-TG fiction?

AMcG: Yes

BCTS: Why are there so many songs about Rainbows?

AMcG: I dunno. My guess, because they're beautiful.

BCTS: What's your favorite type of TG story?

AMcG: I don't have a single favorite. There are several I've enjoyed a lot. One very enjoyable one was the Pern story here on BCTS about the Queen Rider.

BCTS: Do you have a favorite TG author, and if so, who?

AMcG: My best friend, is a TG Author, but that's not what you're asking, I don't think. You're asking about an author that is TG. And there, I don't think so. I like reading several author's work - for different reasons.

BCTS: Who put the 'bomp' in the bomp-sh-bomp-sh-bomp, and who put the 'ram' in a ram-a-lam-a-ding-dong?

AMcG: Huh. I think I've been deprived and don't recognize these.

BCTS: Are you TG yourself?

AMcG: Yes

BCTS: Do you have plans to publish any of your work?

AMcG: As in dead tree? Or as in electronic for pay? No current plans, because I don't think my work is worth it.

BCTS: If a train leaves Chicago traveling at 100mph toward Kansas City, and one leaves Kansas City at the same time traveling at 80mph toward Chicago, how many fathoms per furlong must a goose fly to see the wreck when it occurs?

AMcG: Interesting you should ask, though both a fathom and a furlong are units of measure (unless I'm going senile and am way off base), so said Goose would be better off switching to CNN, and waiting for the crash to show up on the news.

EDIT: Later informed that the phrase was "furlongs per fortnight" the question was taken out and shot.
BCTS: What is the best way someone has ever described you?

AMcG: The most humorous, was being called "MacGyver" this past summer. The nicest, was my spouse calling me wonderful.

BCTS: By winning this major award, do you think your ship has come in?

AMcG: I wish... I figure I won, because nobody else entered.

***Note***there were quite a few entries, it's a random lucky dip as to which name is picked!
