I love Amazon Prime!
I use it for my business and for my home. I order everything I can through it. Books, movies, clothes, toiletries, etc. I probably spend $10,000 a year on Amazon. Recently I found out that Erin gets a very nice percentage of the sale if I come into Amazon Prime through the link on her site.
This morning I read an article in the paper about the most popular new board games.
One of my sons is a board game fanatic so I ordered a number of the games. According to what Erin said she will have made $8 off that one transaction. If I’m diligent and go through BC to Amazon she will make about $700 a year off my purchases.
That won’t cost me a dime and is good for BC.
I love Amazon Prime! (I do recycle those damned Amazon boxes, which I don't love.)

I like the free shipping.
Which with the recently announced threshold for non-Prime customers, is just going to drive more people to add Prime. The video library is very nice, and their recent foray into original programming (Transparent I have mixed feelings about) has been rather successful. I'm an enormous fan of the new Man in the High Castle series. It's extremely well done.
Also I do like that their packaging does tear down easily for stuffing into the recycling bins.

I have seen a couple of episodes and my reaction to it is 'Meh'. A typical over produced US TV series.
I read the book years ago but still have it in my collection of what I call 'Classic SF'. No Fantasy allowed apart from CS Lewis (Perlandra, Out of the silent planet etc)
Before I saw the TV show, I re-read the book.
In my opinion, the book wins by a long way. Like most books of the time, the story paints IMHO a vivid picture. You don't need to see it on the flat screen to visualise it. I can only wish that some day my writing is even 1/10th as good as many SF Novels pre 1990.

We don't get commissions off of Euro based Amazon pages.
We don't speak German and don't have Euro bank accounts, so it is hard to set it up.

Too bad as...
I just ordered a bunch of Disney Blu's from Amazon UK(a month ago) as they were on sale. The reason is Disney over there will give you the 3D Blu with just an extra Blu-ray under UK, not all the crap they stick you with here. It's cheaper to get it over there.

Amazon UK we DO get commissions off of; we can read English :) and one of us (Cat Lochley) lives there and has a bank account. Also, we sell a fair amount in the UK.
Amazon DE let us set up an account with them but then all their communications turned German and they insist on having a DE bank account to pay to. Amazon FR, IT and ES want the bank account first before setting up an account. All this for what would be not very much in sales in those countries. We actually could set up an account for ES fairly easily (There's a Spanish branch bank near Toms River) but we would get paid about once every three or four years, judging by how much sales we get there.
