Maybe not such a good deal
Ther have been a number of reports that some of the so called deals are anything but and were in fact cheaper before the 'prime day'.
Amazon's get out is that they have not called it a sale.
Just another case of 'Caveat Emptor' (buyer beware)
Personally, I've just about weaned myself off of using Amazon for anything unless it is not available anywhere else. Do we really want them to be the last retailer left?

I know you have a hard-on
I know you have a longstanding dislike against the company but the perceived fraud against customers isn't fully there. Sure the sales aren't good, but they are still sales. They put some of the products on sale so periodically that they are at the point of looking like the base price, but it's not.
The whole point of this sales event is to get people to buy more subscriptions to Prime. That's where the real savings are for a vast majority of customers, that $5-$20 savings especially on 2 day, next day, or 2 hour delivery is a huge draw.
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
I share your dislike
But for additional reasons like poor labor practices.
Their prices are no longer that cheap to be honest. And prime memberships are a major profit center for them.
And once they truly dominate, their prices will then climb.
