Sergeant Hudson looks at all three men in a separate interrogation room. Katlain and her partner were standing next to her.

“So, who do you think is going to break, first?” Katlain looks at her Sergeant.

“I don’t know.” Sergeant Hudson watches the three people.

“Let me see if I can get Robert Holt to talk. He has more to lose than the others.” Katlain walks into the interrogation room Holt was in.

Robert Holt looks up when Detective Zane walks into the room. A sneer appears on his face.

“What do you want?”

“I’m here to make you a deal. You testify against the others and we’ll drop most of the charges against you. Otherwise, we’ll have to throw the book at you.” Katlain had a smile on her face.

“Lawyer.”

“Oh, come on. We have enough evidence to bury you and your friends under the jail cell. No matter how dirty your lawyer is, he won’t be able to get you off. Also,” as Katlain leans towards Holt “Plus if you don’t deal. I’ll make sure your life is so, miserable out on the streets. That you will wish you were dead.”

“Who the fuck, are you?” Holt looks at Katlain

“Someone who has a lot of connections and knows every inch of this city.” Katlain sits back in her chair.

“I don’t believe you.” Holt was skeptical about what detective Zane was telling him.

“Don’t believe me? Ask Ventusky Ricci. He’ll tell you what happens when you cross me.” An evil smile appears on Katlain’s face.

“It was you? You took him down?” Holt had heard that Ventusky Ricci had been busted with drugs and money.

“Yep, it was me. Now, how about that testimony?” Katlain slides a legal pad towards him.

Holt looks down at the pad and starts writing a confession. He couldn’t believe what he was doing, but he heard how Ricci and his drug ring
along with the cops in his pocket had been taken down. No one knew the person responsible, but they did know that person was well connected in the city.

Once the confession was done. Katlain takes it to Sergeant Hudson “here you go.” As she hands it to her.

“What did you say to him, to make him turn?” Angelo was curious.

“I told him I could make his life miserable if he didn’t cooperate with us.”

“How could you do that?”

“Let’s just say I have contacts that can make life miserable for someone like him.” Katlain would just have her cousin put him out of business.

Once all the paperwork is completed and the three suspects are taken away. Katlain grabs her purse and heads to pick up Katherine from her aunts. It was nice of them to watch her overnight, last night.

As Katlain drives towards Faith and Julie’s apartment. She thinks about how things have changed since the incident in the park. She never
thought she would ever go straight. However, ever since Declan and Katherine came into her life. She can no longer be the rogue she once was.

Faith and Julie’s Apartment:
“How was my little girl?” Katlain walks into Faith and Julie’s place.

“She was a little fussy at first, but she quiets down after a while.” Faith was holding Katherine in her arms.

“She was missing mommy.” Katlain holds her arms out for her little girl.

“You can say that again, Kat.” Julie loved taken care of Katherine. She hopes one day she’ll have a little girl like her.

“Well, you two have been the best aunt’s this little girl could ever ask for.” Katlain kisses Katherine’s cheek.

“We love her as well.” Julie looks at her best friend and the little girl she trusted her and her sister with.

“Hey, I’m throwing a dinner party next weekend. You’re invited to come.”

“What day is it going to be on?” Faith was curious.

“Friday night, after work around 7:00 pm.” Katlain hopes they will come.

“We’ll be there.” Julie couldn’t wait.

When Katlain arrives home, she spots Declan’s pickup truck in the driveway. A smile forms on her face, as she parks her car and gets out.

“Daddy’s home Katherine.” Katlain picks Katherine up out of her car seat and carries her and the diaper bag into the house.

Declan was in the kitchen fixing himself a sandwich when the front door opens and Katlain walks in with Katherine in her arms. A smile
appears on his face “my two beautiful ladies returning home.”

He walks over and helps Katlain with Katherine. He holds her in his arms, while he watches Katlain.

“How long have you been home?” As she gives him a kiss.

“About twenty minutes. I had the cab driver drop me off at your Lincoln Ave. garage and picked up my truck.” Declan tickles Katherine. He loved being her father.

“Well, welcome home.” She walks up to Declan and gives him a kiss.

Later in the Evening after Katherine is given a bath and put in her crib. Katlain snuggles close to Declan and enjoys feeling his arms wrapped around her.

“I’m happy you’re home.” She places a kiss on his arm.

“I’m happy to be home.” He places a kiss on her cheek.

The two of them slowly fall asleep with Declan holding Katlain in his arms.
