dysphoria

so yesterday, my mom convinced me I needed a hair cut, as it was starting to go all over the place. Sadly, I just can't seem to have long hair, so I agreed, and got it done.

Since then, seeing my reflection has brought out my dysphoria, which only got added to today when my ex commented that I looked more like a man, more like the person I was before I started wearing women's clothes in public.

So I am really feeling ugly, and would appreciate any hugs anybody can spare.

This is not right

For those like me who have been looking at a lot of best books lists in hope of finding something new, especially anyone looking at best fantasies. Most of them do get around to mentioning Tolkein eventually( He should be at the top) but I've seen no mention of what I think is the second best fantasy epic of the last century. Guy Kay Gavriel's Fionaver Tapestry. He draws together a vast range of folklore from across Europe in one masterful story. There is no trans content but has everything else you could want in a fantasy tale.

Christmas.

Christmas.

Christmas has always been a goodish time for me, decent ones as a kid, quiet, riotous or drunken ones as an adult. I like the time of year. Not the stress, the crowds or the harrying but the festiveness leading into the turning of the year.

This last year I have been climbing out of a deep pit (life, the universe and other things) back into living, and it is good’ish.

Plans for the future are being made, small ones and big target (but achievable) set.

Fishing for ideas.

So, I've hit a bit of a stumbling block. And I was hoping the readership here could help me out. I have two possible ideas for a story, both are kind of beach themed. One centers on Persephone paiting the gulf coast red. The other be an intro for a new character, or feature Isabella. The first one is more, fun, adventure, slice of life, that flavored with anime and manga style humor. The other is dark, brooding and a bit scary, maybe even too scary.

the weirdest day I have had in I don't know how long

Okay so Mom and I went to get our laundry done today, despite still recovering from the flu.

We use a laundromat rather than the machines in our building, because they aren't all that good.

So we get there, get our loads started, and this gentlemen starts talking to my mom, because she mentioned living in the northern part of the province, and he apparently worked out there.

I swear, he was basically chatting her up, but I wasn't going to be a spoilsport and tell him to stop.

Advice to Authors, being passed on

Advice for authors that I received and am passing on.

One of the best pieces I ever received was simple, a setting is not a plot.

It sounds odd, but it is true, you get an idea for a place, you detail it exquisitely, but people do not (generally) come out of the theatre quoting the scenery….

Yes knowing your background is important, knowing how a school is set up matters for a story set in a school, but unless you are very good, very weird or just odd (like me) the school is not the story, just the scenery.

For Post Op MTF folk

I had my Neo-Vagina installed in 2007 and for a decade it was fun. In the last few years it does nothing; worse than a dead fish. Er, it doesn't smell though. One thing that does happen is that at times, it feels like I am sitting on my penis, and when I am walking the feeling is stronger. There are no more Orgasms, and there are perhaps several reasons. I've got several conditions that are vying for the right to kill me. I am just wondering if any other Post op ladies can relate?

Looking for a story

I'm looking for a story that was published on BCTS. It consists of about 3 or 4 volumes worth of story. In the first volume mankind has spaceships. The main character is a young man who is something like a janitor or maintenance person. The ship is attacked by monsters that turn crewmen into more monsters. But something different happens with this young man and he winds up turning into a young woman with powers to fight back. Many of the battles occur on the microscopic level as the populations of "good" creatures fight the populations of "bad" creatures.

my life so far, therapy in writing.

Reading a story here, that set me on trains of thought. The story had dark and light, but I identified with a bit I really do not like having identified with.

The idea of suicide by neglect. It rang true and hit home hard.

And a lot of the other issues about growing up and acceptance and self doubt etc.

So here is my story, not for enjoyment or sympathy but to see if I can put it into some semblance of order that makes sense to me. Some info will be relevant, some is just me hanging it into its place for me.

Lot to Share

Despite what many on this channel think of conservative news sites, if you aren't sampling them you only get half the story of life. The following is a lady who says she's a Christian. I would fault her on the following comment. Basically she is claiming if she dressed less like a woman and more like a man it would cure her husband of wanting to be what she no longer represented in the family..., a female. That is so wrong and so upside down in thinking and logic. Give it some thought yourself. She's okay dressing less as a female but he's wrong for dressing less as a male.

WhatAHoliday Chapter 1- O Come, All Ye Faithful

There’s no contest this time but I’m still going to try and finish this before December 23rd. The continuation of “A Cracker Barrel Christmas” has Nicole and her family going to see her older brother in Texas. While there, she meets a homeless couple who sleep in a car across the street from a “Whataburger”. Nicole tries to find a way tgo help them and all of the homeless in the sub-freezing weather of a Texas suburb.

Transgender Actor Yasmin Finney plays a transgender character Dr. Who

I watched the latest Dr. Who. Donna Noble's daughter was called a boy's name by a group of boys on bikes as they rode by. I thought WHAT?

It is cleared up later as you realise she is trans. I watched a program later where Yasmin Finney said it brought back bad memories about being "dead named".

It was a fun episode. Much better than those crap, poorly written ones Jodie Whittaker was forced to do. Mind you, David Tennant is my favorite Dr. Who, with Tom Baker in close second.

Very HOT Erotic Stories

I've been working on some short stories that one might classify as lewd or pornographic. I had thought that I would tone them down before I published them at BCTS feeling as though that was my only proper option. One of them is Forced Feminization with Bondage. I am shocked at myself that now that I'm nearly finished, I do not wish to castrate it. Yes, I know there are other sites and I wonder if I should attempt to use one of them?

Mid-month Bills and such - Funds Needed

Thanks to everyone who has sent money. We really depend on you. :)

Besides the regular bills, we have some special needs that have come up.

I did get Melanie's computer replaced by tapping a savings account I hadn't touched in more than ten years. That's about the limit of my serendipitous funds, though.

The tax bill will likely wait till the new year, but a months late power bill has taken its place with more urgency. Ah, me.

Thanks for any amount you can send. All contributions are very welcome. Thanks a great deal to all who have already contributed or paid for a membership at Patreon or Hatbox.

Many thanks!

Thank You Maddy Bell

Many of Maddy's blogs IMHO don't get the attention they deserve, maybe because they are about bits of Britain that the majority of readers and adherents to this site are American or Canadian and their interests are understandably closer to home.

But Maddy's latest blog (as of 22 November) draws attention to the plight of those who might fall through the cracks in our society and are ignored, even when it comes to charitable causes. I could have appended this to her blog but thought it could get a bit more attention if posted as a stand-alone, particularly at this time of year.

Feeling thankful

Tomorrow many Americans will celebrate our distinctive Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a difficult time for many in the trans community, especially those who have been rejected by their families. But it’s also a time to count blessings and give thanks. I didn’t want the occasion to pass without giving the thanks I can only articulate in this space: my deep, profound, and heartfelt thanks for every member of this community. For the women and men who have read my stories and for the incredibly talented authors whose stories have touched me this past year.

A Private Remembrance

20231120_143336.jpg

Today, November 20, 2023 is the Transgender Day of Remembrance.

I have long had a concern for the rights and protection of Transgender individuals, including those who are gender-nonconforming and others in the LGBTQ community. But I think it's become more personal and important in the year since I began my own transition. So this year I decided to do something specific.

Being Descriptive

I may read more than most people, and much of it is at BCTS. Most of the stories I read are good to excellent. If there is one suggestion that I would make to almost all authors, it would be to be more descriptive in their writing. There is a balance between that and wordiness and I am not sure that I know where that is. I would make the same criticism of my own writing.

A short rant.

I published a story that had plenty of Trans content, but also Female Domination, Bondage, BDSM, Slavery the whole 9 Fetish yards really. It had the caution warnings, then had more added because apparently people ignore the content warnings and read anyway.

It got comments of the ewww and not for here, and can you not write sweet gentle stories like wot we want?

to the readers of All I Need is a Miracle

As I have ran through several edits to the story I realized how much was not fully explained and how I could extend the middle. I plan to have Tai relive each day, but, much like an episode of Star Trek TNG (Cause and Effect), slight changes are made each time she relives the day.
I also wanted to know if it is required to show more of what happens to during these loops.

Gentleman at Safeway

Yesterday, was the weekly shopping day. Being a Sunday, I dressed up a little more than I might have any other day. I was wearing a charcoal gray skirt that hit just below the knee and similarly colored top with faux jacket and light grey patterned front and long black coat. My make up was simple; true brown mascara and lipstick.

I was in the cereal aisle and attempted to pick up two Quaker Simply Granola in one hand.

What, Again?!

About forty minutes after I went to bed last night, the power went off again. This time just the once. I wasn't sound asleep, and the emergency light in the hall coming on woke me. I checked everything, then went back to bed. My calico was a bit upset, presumably due to the UPSes beeping, but was easily calmed. I managed to doze some, but didn't get soundly to sleep. About three hours later the power came back on. This time it was off long enough that the UPS keeping the video recorder alive ran down. I was wide awake, so I set the clock and reprogrammed it.

Without calling her out by name i hope she realizes this is about her. She gave me the strength to move forwards when i was ready to give up . Sometimes we touch lives and we dont realize how important that touch is or that we may have saved a life . Thank you dear sister with all my love Lisa C

It's a Conspiracy to Rob Me of Sleep

So much for sleeping in this morning. I was awakened about a quarter after 7 (yes, AM) by a series of muffled bangs, and the Shark AI repeatedly telling me it was charging (there's a distinctive set of chimes). I looked at the alarm clock, and it was dead. Power was off, and after several attempts to come back on was staying off. For a large part of Frankfort. After waiting a while with no restoration, I walked to the end of my street and could see that the traffic signal at the intersection of US 60/US 421 was not only out, there was a city police van parked there with its blue lights on.

I recently discovered asstr.org was gone. Apparently its been gone a while, but its not somewhere I went often. It did have an archive of stories called Old Joe's Collection. This had a TG section of stories from when I started reading them on Usenet. Usenet was the internet's message boards before the web was invented.

Random Thoughts about an Existential Threat to Big Closet

Ask yourself -- if I tried to call up Big Closet on my computer and it was unavailable and appeared to be gone forever, what would I do?

If your answer is something along the lines of – that wouldn’t be a problem for me I would simply spend more time reading on _____ or writing stories for _____ -- then you are probably more of a taker than a giver in regard to this site – and that is understandable.

For me . . . the existence of BC is a huge part of my life. I give to BC to maintain that part of me.

Self Publishing

I've been thinking of taking the plunge and attempting to publish on Amazon Kindle. I've read some books there and a few of them have been from BCTS authors, though some of the others could have been but were done in the stealth mode. I'm not planning to out anyone.
They are my three oldest stories, and I think that all three are large enough to interest Amazon. I'm not terribly worried about my editing work because I recently read a very long book there that passed but still needed a lot of editorial work, though the story was quite engaging.

Kaiser's restroom sign

I had a doctor's appointment to day at the Sunset Kaiser Clinic. It was simply a yearly wellness check. After seeing the doctor I needed to use the restroom. I've been going to the doctor totally en femme for about six or seven years now and I've been to the restroom there several times. As I refuse to use the men's room while not masquerading an average male, I've always used the women's room.

Today was the first time I encountered this sign outside the restroom.

Another project I’ve been trying to write since 1992

Long Ago, King Tsarkon of Cartahena unleashed his evil hordes upon the peaceful land of Excalabria.

Though the people of Excalabria fought bravely, in the end they were overwhelmed. As his castle collapsed around him, King Erik V of Excalabria summoned Blade, his most trusted servant. Erik commanded Blade to escape with Erik's infant daughter and the Ring of Wisdom, an ancient family heirloom.

If it was your husband Thank You’s

Now that the final segment of “If It Was Your Husband” has been posted, I’d like to take a few moments to reflect on the saga and say thank you to some of the folks that got involved with the story. This was the first serial I’ve ever posted. The only reason I posted as a serial was because of the length. I generally write at about 20K words or less, this one topped 40K before the epilogue. The epilogue added an additional 1500 words.

No Comments Allowed

Dreams lately are perhaps impossible to separate from wakefulness. This morning I dreamed about writing a short story that would undoubtedly draw fire from some, or many, or even most. It would make use of every thing I can remember of all disciplines religious, scientific, mystical, and things without names. I don't know if it would include TG content because I haven't written it yet, still trying to recover from the dream, perhaps nightmare. I don't know if I can publish something here and not allow comments? I won't ask if anyone wants to read this one.

I am in desperate need of an editor to help me with my anthologies to be published on Amazon.

My current fantastic editor is over-burdened but I do have some interesting books lined up to be published by Doppler Press (with a benefit coming back to Big Closet) once they have been properly proofread and checked for internal inconsistencies. Can any body help.
