Scouting is a wonderful part of growing up, but for those of us that don't fit the views of the Boy and Girl Scouts (Girl Guides in the UK), it can mean being excluded from experiences that would help strengthen physical, social and mental skills.
Spiral Scouts does not discriminate based on gender (coed Circles with male, female, intersex and transgender all welcome), religion (encouraging a view for the children to make their own decisions about what they choose to believe, all religions accepted equally, even no religion), sexual identity (homosexual, heterosexual, asexual, bisexual -- it doesn't matter what someone's attraction), or any reason, really. The point is to provide a fun way for children and parents to connect without having to feel like they're being dishonest about who they are. An open and loving environment with all the fun things associated with scouting. Yes, even Campouts!

I Was In The Scouts For Awhile,
But I never did go far because even though I took the oath, somehow that there was something better. Too bad i did not here of Spiral Scouts before now. I hope that the Spiral Scouts thrive.

If the rest of the world could practice this concept, the world would be a far better place.
A great idea
