Sex or no sex in Rock Star Makeover?

I have reached a point in writing Rock Star Makeover where I could justify Noah and Gabbi having an intimate encounter. But should I? Would it spoil the "sweet/sentimental" mood? Opinions?

Please don't spoil the story -

Not that I have anything against sex.

There are so many with sex scenes that it gets boring.

Catwalk ----, and Robin ---- ,are great stories that can go on forever without the sex being a major part of the story, I think your story could be also as it has some interesting options in the way you may develop it.

In my humble opinion.

Sex if it is important to the story is fine but can often be...

done *off camera* with greater effect as the reader must use their own fantasies to fill in the gaps.

At this point in your tale I doubt if they would get much beyond kissing and stuff like that, IE foreplay. They are young and both fear destroying their friendship in pursuing a sexual relationship too quickly. At most they might experiment and find isn't the time yet.

Plus some here who have undergone SRS have commented in the past that until they had their surgery sex was abhorrent, at least having sex as their birth sex. IE our heroine may well only want sex as a woman has sex, not as a gay man has sex.

The strength of her conviction in becoming a woman in body and mind makes me suspect she would not want sex until she is whole. Not that she doesn't want some serious cuddling and maybe everything up to but short of intercourse.

You baby and as teens their emotional control is suspect but I fear if they *did it* there would be regrets and possibly a break-up. Or worse.

That's my two cents.

I'm going to have to agree ...

... with John. If it's important to the story line then it's important. However, off camera works well and the readers imagination can fill in the gaps. With creativity of words it can be made known what has happened, without painting a word picture.

I'll see your two cents and raise two more.

I agree with Rita and the others. I think if you keep it to everyone's imagination. If you feel it is part of the story fine, but I really do not think that it is important. Want is important, in my humble opinion is the love and respect that they have for each other.

Sex or no sex?

Refresh my memory, how old are these children?

This is has been a fun little series. I'm enjoying it very much. I don't think there's a need to spoil a good thing.
Absolutely, see my reply under John's remarks.

I would prefer not, but that

I would prefer not, but that is me. It is your story.

A suggestion though, would be to write the scene and ask others that you trust what they think of the scene, and how it would effect the story.

Rock Star Making Out

laika's picture

would probably be enough for this story.

They're not too young to have sex but if they do I don't want to hear the details. And I can't see it would add anything to this wonderful story (BTW this is your comment for today's chapter too. I just had a superburrito and I'm feeling lazy...). The sexual tension and speculation and yearning on the part of Footballer Susan and her girlfriend in the whole Series 1 of Sue Brown's FOOTBALL GIRL might be a good rule of thumb. They're kissing, they both want it, and just then Mom walks in, etc. It's just plain cute, and says a lot about teenage sexuality and their emotions regarding each other without being overt. Corny, but I'd rather have corny than porny. You might want to try your hand at erotica, just curious to see if you can, and erotica is a valid genre that I enjoy on rare occasion, but I'd pick another story for it.

I prefer my stories ACAP (as clean as possible,) so please, no. I'm enjoying the story, and don't want anything to hurt that.

Go for it

You can't have a Rock and Roll lifestyle without sex, but if too many of your readers don't want to see it you can have it happen "off camera."

My take on that one?

If the story demands it, fine. If it doesn't, just say it happened and let the readers imagine it. Yes the two are obviously in love. But you don't have to show how they physically show that to each other other than in comments between the characters and people in the story who know them.

Let it happen, but you don't have show all the details of the how...

Maggie

Well I agree with the others

Only if the story demands, and even then it can be off-screen, otherwise, like a certain author whose name begins with a J who posts on Stardust, the sex would seem pretty gratuitous.
