It was only a few weeks ago I started reading this story, but failed to make a note of its title and author. Today I remembered that I had started it.
Our hero(ine) has decided to transition. She has a lover (or ex-lover) in Pittsburgh who is training her in female ways. In the meantime, going home for the holidays, her father kicks his other son out for allegedly being gay. (He isn't but doesn't care if he's perceived that way.) Our hero tells him he'll take him to the airport. When he gets back, his suitcase is outside the door. He has been disowned for helping his brother.
Now his sister calls him because she's getting married. He advises her to just leave the whole family out of it. She wants him there but he doesn't want to be a disruption. When he finally admits to being trans, her reaction is unfavorable. He says goodbye, and then ignores her calls for a few days. When he finally does answer she profusely apologizes, and they're good.
What IS this, and by who?
The story is……
Duets by Emma Anne Tate. There is a sequel as well - An Aria for Cami.

Gracias!
Thanks, D. I knew it was by an author I was very familiar with!
Hey, this is COOL!
Sorry to geek out, but no-one’s come looking for one of my stories before!
Noname, your description covers Duets and the first couple chapters of The Holly and the Ivy, which is the first book of An Aria for Cami. Both books are currently available on Amazon kindle. The remaining three books of Aria have yet to be published, and are still up on the site.
Hugs,
Emma
There was absolutely no way……
That I wouldn’t recognize your work!

Really Cool!
You're famous, my dear!
NoName1- Cameron, Candi, Cam, Cami is simply my favorite character. Her transformation has been inspirational to this reader. Duets, and Aria for Cami are both published on Amazon, although Aria is in parts. I highly recommend them. :DD
