Day 2...Morning.

Day two started under a grey, drizzly sky, with more rain expected. It's not cold or anything...just a little depressing is all. I don't know why, but I had this image of the Sunny South. LOL.

We're pretty much unpacked, and spent a restless night in the room. For some reason both Grover and I kept waking up, or at least coming to a state of semi-consciousness, before falling back asleep. It's probably my excitement at actually being here, and Grover missing sleeping in the same bed with Paula. I'm sure tonite will be better. Holly should be in around 6 -ish...depending on weather at Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport.

It seems, at least right now, that Grover and I are the only "girls" awake and functioning. I suspect a bit of over-imbibing has something to do with none of the other girls being up and around right now.

I have to say that the hotel and it's staff have been unfailingly friendly and accepting, although they probably would be, or the Conference would be being held somewhere more friendly. I am a bit of a victim of "sticker shock" at seeing the prices for food in the Hotel dining establishments. It looks like the fast food places will become a home away from home, meal-wise for at least Grover and me.

Atlanta is seeing it's worst flooding in many, many years, so the news channels tell me. Anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of rain within the last few days have overtaxed almost all of the measures that usually keep water under control. There doesn't seem to be much of a problem at the Hotel, but my heart goes out to those who have been flooded out of their homes and businesses.

Well, more later. This is your live action reporter, Cathy, signing off.

Hugs 'n love everyone.
