Boo! (Or 'told you I was ill...')
Well, first of all I would like to thank everyone whom sent kind wishes whilst I was in hospital. It was not fun nor was it one of the more pleasing moments of my life. Anyhow, it sort of went like this:
Was woken up (groggily) by a bunch of paramedics surrounding my bed on Thursday night. It would seem I had a fit and then dropped into a hypoglycaemic coma and was brought round by a glucagon jab by the paramedics. Had massive chest and back pains, so off I was carted to hospital and put on dimorphine and blood thinning agents while they did a full workover over four days, being electrocardiograms, various blood tests, x-rays, hourly vital sign monitoring (I checked the notes clipped to the bed end, I was on ‘coma watch’ apparently). It scared Mrs. Jay half to death and back. In the end, I was seen to by the endocrinologist, who decided that I probably just got my insulin / food / activity levels messed up and that the fit caused a bunch of pulled muscles in my back and chest, which hurt like hell.
So, apart from the pulled muscles and the diabetes, no further repair required, which is a relief. So, back at home, off work and still hurting, but got a shipping order of codiene, which makes stabbing pain into a dull ache. Oh, they also found a massively high white blood cell count, so I had an infection that I was unaware of, so on the antibiotics too. Looks like I shall just be in ‘routine maintenance’ mode this week and, if I can get my head sorted as well, I may just be fit to write some more Floral tales or Shinigami, if there is any interest.

Hi Jay,
i hope your back in action fast, and pass on my sympathy to Mrs J,
having an epileptic wife i know it scares the hell out of me every time she has flipped (she's only once woken up in an ambulance enroute to hospital after doing a header into the wardrobe).
Gill is used to it and is fine again the next day, while i have the shakes for days afterwards, you'd think having 2 epileptic siblings and a spouse of 14 years that i'd get used to it, but no.
