She's called Izzy and is a tortoiseshell and white shorthair. I'll do a photo when I get a chance - Bonzi of course doesn't know yet that there's a another female here to nag him, but he'll find out when he gets home. She's busy (I know busy Izzy but I didn't name her) exploring the place. I hope within a few days they'll have settled down together without blood on the ceiling.
She's a rescue cat who suffered head injuries in a road accident yet still managed to carry three kittens and birth them, so she's made of tough stuff. They've been homed and I've adopted the mother. We think she's a year or two old at most. She's very affectionate and nosy.

Congratulations on the new girl in the household :)
When Bonzi gets home and you tell him her name
he'll probably ask, "Well, Izzy or isn't she?" And you'll have the perfect title for the world's first feline transgender story.
Or second I suppose, if you count SNAFU.
Hope they get along well! I'm really looking forward to the day when I can have cats in my life again.
Where is Bonzi anyway, out of curiosity? (my cat-like nature showing through)
Bonzi & Izzy update
They have now met accompanied by some growling and spitting, however, no physical contact or attempt at attack. Bonzi is probably half as big again as his new housemate, and twice as frightened. He's gone out - he spends most of his time outdoors. Izzy, we have to keep indoors for a week or two until she settles in - or eats us out of house and home - appetite - ye gods!

Glad to hear that Bonzi has company for when you are slaving over a hot keyboard.
This wouldn't by chance have anything to do with Sooty, or Fascinating Aida, would it?
For our overseas friends, Sooty is a puppet, popular on television in nineteen hundred and frozen-to-death. The phrase 'Izzy Whizzy, let's get busy' comes readily to mind.
Fascinating Aida was a hilariously satirical vocal trio, which included a transwoman, and was popular in the 1990's.
