Hi everyone, long time no see.
I come bearing good news and bad news.
Frist the good news- Kate Draffen is done. I have finally finished my 400 page mega novel. It has taken me almost 2 years but it is all finished.
The bad news is that my phone line is down. A very recent moving house and a very stupid phone and internet company means I am sans net acsess for 7-10 working days.
I PROMISE as soon as my house is wired to the information super highway the completed chapters will be posted. Thank you to all my supporters, I know that it can be a pain waiting for an author to finish their story but I can promise the end is in sight.

P.S. Love to see how this all comes out, the Deb event and her ex-partner the creep. Why did she become so unsupportive, even mean? Religious reasons, phobic about the disease and it maybe making her into a man? Or is she jealous her former Deb partner is the sexiest girl in town and maybe in all of Australia? Hope her true friends find love, well two certainly have with each other. Maybe mom can find someone to love, sis get to experience the Deb through her new sister. We have the publicist/lover, poor bitter Kate and the ever present papparazzi to follow-up on. Oh and do we ever hear from the long gone runaway father?
I'd bet that if they found a way to reverse the changes, IE reprogram the nanos/nanovirus, and give you any body you want, even your old one, our heroine would stay this wonderful woman she is becoming ... except maybe a few inches taller.

Well that IS good news - I can't wait to see the resolution - I stopped reading after she lost her virginity and went a bit crazy as I wanted to read all the way to the end without waiting - finally I can find satisfaction.
As to other stories - well I am not sure - I am tempted to ask for more stories in this same Universe as I love the concept but maybe not - any thing you want to really.

This is probably one of my favorite stories of all time and I'll be sorry to see it end. If I had any ideas as to your next project I would go with GreatSage's idea of setting it in the same universe and just changing the setting. It would be interesting to see a character who had a different background and explore how gender would change his/her life. Just write what you know. The thing I loved about Kate Draffen was the character interactions and the growth of Gemma as a person. I particularly loved how Gemma started to doubt her identity after metting "Kate" and how she regressed. I thought that was a believable and inspired idea. The only part of the story that I thought should have been handled differently was the "sex drive". I think it would have been better if after the intervention to reboot it the desire for men was more gradual. Other than that one little nit pick, your story is the most compelling tg fiction I've read in a long time. I'm dying to finish it.
