For all the positive and other comments on Maiden by Decree. My muse had left me for a while there thanks to a month long bout of illness that I won't go into here. Please know that all your comments, even the few negative ones helped me with the story so far and were very much appreciated. And yes even negative comments if made as comments and suggestions, help an author improve the story in question.
I honestly think I might get three or four more chapters out of this current (mis)adventure of Deirdre, Garret, et all. More than that would be prolonging something that doesn't require that and might actually take away from the story as a whole in the long run.
Now before anyone, if there are any of you out there who would, start moaning and asking for more, this doesn't mean that Deirdre's saga is finished. Just this particularly messy beginning part of her new life. Not that other tales will likely be any more sedate, given that the girl does seem to be a trouble magnet of epic proportions. *grin*
But I have other projects that have been languishing so I can finish Maiden up and I really wish to give those some attention before doing anything else with and to Deirdre.

An obvious follow-up is/are ...
This story will resolve Deirdre's origin, finding her soulmate and much of the prophecy of the long dead seer/sorceress, her ancestor. She has already found her real father, helped kill the master assassin sent after her, forged numerous powerful alliances/friends and has accepted being a beautiful and powerful woman and put that to good use.
In the next few chapters the evil plot will be spoiled, the threats to the throne dead or in chains and someone will be lucky to be eating her red wig vs dead. I suspect Bridgette will fight or pull a dirty stunt and get killed. I hope for her humiliation instead, IE loss of status, wealth, influence and if I was real nasty, I'd have Deirdre claw her face with the goblin claw, rendering it permanently disfigured no matter what magics used except maybe those of Deirdre herself. IE Bridgette would have a face to mach her heart.
Bridgette used her wealth and beauty to further her ambitions, taking it away from her would punish her severely. It would leave her only revenge as a goal but how as she has no hope of ever getting power. More likely she will kill herself. Or just make her a personal servant magically tied to Deirdre such that any attempt to harm Deirdre or her friends will hit Bridgette twice as hard. Sort of a twist on the ending to Happily Everafter and what Drew Barrymore does to her mom and bad sister.
Follow up stories would have to cover her development as a sorceress and mother and later her becoming Queen and eventual ruler/co ruler with her husband. There is also mom and her dad and new threats to the happiness of all. Plus have we been tol ALL of the prophesy?

Seriously, I am glad to hear there will be further misadventures of Deidre. I love messy beginnings, it makes for interesting stories. However, I don't mind sloppy seconds either :).
I look forward to your other projects. But Deidre I think is something special, I think.
