Last night a man clad in black entered one of the local GLBT centers in Tel-Aviv in the midst of a youth group. The man started shooting everywhere and killed 2 teens and injured 8 more, The man managed to escape.The shooting wasn't random, The place he went to was well known as a GLBT support place and was located in a side street near two of the busiest streets in Tel-Aviv .
Right now I feel really bad, This is the first incident of murder due to sexual/gender orientation in Israel for the last 10 years ( it might be more or some haven't been reported but its really rare down here) and I am really afraid what might happen next. The people who got injured yesterday were my age or 3-4 years younger then me , It could have easily been a friend of mine or my brother and while I want to say luckily nobody I know was hurt ( I am fortunate enough that nobody I know got hurt) I don't feel there was anything lucky about yesterday night.
But even in the darkness you can see a light, even a little one. Right now most of the public and the media treats it a horrible crime and a terrorist act against the GLBT community and humanity in general.
I don't know how to close this post as a lot of things are running through my head at the moment so I'll just stop here before this will turn out into a four page article .

I realize that random death and mayhem are a big problem in Israel in general, but the sharp contrast in which they hold GLBT citizens (as compared to the U.S.) is eye-opening, or at least it should be if any of the U.S. press has the decency to give this story the emphasis it deserves, and especially to report the level of public condemnation of the attack in Israel.
The U.S. has "religious" groups who have the temerity to celebrate every attack on those they have decided are "ungodly", and the press stays well clear of condemning that. I don't expect this contrast to open many eyes, but even if it could just open a few, and a few hearts, it would be something.
Random death and mayhem isn't
a big problem in Israel our crime level is par with other western countries. Our problem is mostly the issue with the Palestinian ( both sides don't try hard enough to reach an agreement about a future peace act)

If this was a religion based hate crime, let's hope the authorities pursue it with vigour and track down the culprits. How can anyone who call themselves men or women of god, want to hurt anyone? Some god!

On the news last night. Somebody, I don't remember who, was quoted as saying it was definitely a hate crime, not a terrorist attack. That struck me as odd, since I've always thought that terrorist attacks were hate crimes. Still a sad event, and way you look at it.

Religious zealots
We can't blame God for the actions of a man. In each country there are religious zealots who in their own minds think what they do is directed by God.
Sometimes people put the blame on God because an act of violence was done to appease their God.
Mankind has the right to choose and make decisions on their own (Free Will). People are not driven in thoughts by God. If we were directed by God in what we do and say we would not have the wars and mayhem we do.
The shooting in Israel was done by a man who obviously has some sort of discontent with GLBT individuals. He will be found and he will be prosecuted, by mankind according to man's laws.

Stockholm Pride
I am glad to report that at the finish of Stockholm Pride, "The Eucharist of Love", in the Stockholm Cathedral there was a minute in silence and remembrance of the victims in Israel. Later in the evening there was a similar thing in the square outside the main centre of the Pride week as well.
Hope to see many of you next year here in Stockholm.
