*an image takes shape in the mind of a sentient being, like a glimmer*
*it is considered for a moment, as to what it may be*
"is that me? that shape in the warm place?"
"hmm... i've a thought... that's new... aye, 'tis me in here"
*considers once again... in where? in what? an inner eye blinks, the glimmer brightens*
"what do you want to be?"
*it says to itself, considering, while forming a fuzzy image*
"you could be... anywhat you see, as long as it feels"
*feels? the concept of emotions, more than tensile feeling*
"a touch to the mind, is that right? indeed, that touch to find !"
"how to define, a shape around a mind?"
"to filter the view of others that surround, thru to the place where emotions lie?"
*twirling the glimmer in place, will the outer define the inner?*
*a sudden insight that 'tis not alone*
"will I be crafted by the outsiders?"
"some sort of turning of the shrews?"
*a shiver surpressed at the loss of self*
"no, to myself keep the binding of me and the view"
*the glimmer becomes a solid, still spinning in place, the beginning of form, four spouts and a face*
*another feint idea is still hidden, the thought of giving, yet to bear fruit*
"did I do that? have I the will to begin? am I what appears, will it..me be true to the inner view?"
*feeling, no, knowing, that my arrival is nearer to notice*
"what lies beyond, just out of reach?"
*a tremor created, some change out of sight*
*the mesh of events changed on a whim?*
"am I the result of a past or a change in all views?*
"will I join somwhere and be part of the whole?"
"indeed, she hopes, one day extending in emotions bound"
*flickering lights, sounds reach thru to open the body where a mind is attached"
--"Good news to the mother and father, all the parts intact, a new baby ...boy!"--
*BOY?*
I read it
Sorry to disappoint you, but for a short start, it was rather nice.
Could you explain exactly why you posted it, if you wanted no one to read it? That is confusing.
By the way, the imagery was nicely done. The whole of the mood piece was coherent and enticing to further consideration. Were it not for your heading, I would have praised you for your efforts.
Thank you for posting it at the Big Closet.
*blush*
Thank you for your kind words.
Well, I wrote this in a couple hours after reading a couple stories where magic changed the world in astounding fashion. Also, I've been commenting on the stories of people I think of as writers and thought I'd take some risk with my thoughts.
I actually thought the "hanging around" forum was seperate from the main pages and not many would see the piece, sort of risk management. Poorly done too. *sigh*
*heh*
The Hangin' Around forum and other forums were merged back into the main front page a few weeks ago precisely because no one was using them. :) Posts are usually removed from the front page a little faster than stories are, however.
I like the poem. :)
