Less than fifteen minutes ago I finished writing my piece for the Summer Romance 2009 story contest.
Why do I feel this is something to brag about? Because it represents the first time I have completed a long story!
Okay, so it's not THAT long, only about 16000 words, but it is a complete stand alone story, with no other parts, AND, another first for me, it has been truly honestly EDITED by an outside editor! As soon as she takes a quick look at the 'final draft' version, it will be ready for publication.
Hopefully this represents a shift in my writing. I've been having trouble focusing on my writing for a while now, but with having churned this out, and I honestly do think it is a very fun little story, I'm hoping to be able to get the creative juices flowing for my other works again.
For a quick reference:
Echoes VII: 25% complete
Boys of Summer 35-40: 0% complete, waiting on editing of first 35 chapters to be returned
ED: Dressed to Kill: 15% complete
Untitled superhero story: 1% complete (still kicking around where it's gonna go)
Living the Life of a Heroine: 10-15% complete
Oh, Cheers rewrite for TGFiction.net: 2% complete
Snippets 3: 50% complete
Hollywood!: 1st episode/pilot 35-50 % complete
Magic Kingdoms (hopefully to be offered as BC Hatbox Premium: 5% complete
Teddy Bears: 15% complete
Kink: 15% complete
Everia: 3% complete, though doubting if I should bother to finish this one

Don't let anyone tell you any different. Finishing your first story of an intermediate length is a fantastic accomplishment! Congratulations. I look forward to seeing what you have done!
