Somewhere, along the way, with my story, the 45th Annual Gala of Tiresias, I have created a disconnect with my audience here.
What did I do in that story to lose you all to commenting?
I am at a loss and would really like to know why?

Please?

Gala. Of Tiresias

Part could be due to the season, part could be due to the timing of release, part could be other. Gala could seem to be hitting very close to home and events in the real world.

It has not been long since I have gone back and binge read your works from scratch so have not dropped a lot of comments, and even skipped some places. Blame my laziness and the wife's idea its her last Christmas. Sorry.

Be assured I read everything you release, and then sit back to await your next

This was actually one of my favorite stories of yours……

But then again, beyond an initial comment when you started posting here I have not been posting comments on your stories - mainly because I have read all of them multiple times on Fictionmania and have not been reading them here on this site.

I love your work, but I prefer to read it on Fictionmania where I don’t have to await the next post. Please don’t take my not reading them here as a bad thing; it is simply easier and more delightful to be able to read them without waiting. You are one of my favorite authors.

I have in fact been working my way through your work on that site for the past several days.

I also agree that the drop in posts may very well be due to the time of year. Many people are busy during the holidays, not to mention the fact that the end of the month and the end of the year add additional issues for some of us.

Dum Vivimus, Vivamus

I suspect I'm not alone.

I don't comment unless I have something meaningful to say. And just saying "I liked it" isn't meaningful; that's what the kudo button is for. I have enjoyed all of the stories you have been posting here, including 45th Annual Gala of Tiresias. And, unlike some, I prefer reading stories here to reading them on Fictionmania, and many authors post both places. Don't take a lack of comments to mean reader disinterest. If I weren't still interested, I wouldn't still be reading.

Multiple daily posts

As several others have pointed out, with several holidays, end of month and end of year all coming together inside a span of 10 days, free time to read for relaxation is somewhat scarce. What with family gatherings, traveling and preparations for said gatherings, more often than not even sleep time gets stolen by seasonal demands.

Another contributing factor is that you are posting more than one story each day. That just makes it so much easier to overlook an unread chapter (not helped by the lack of visual cues regarding visited links).

My suggestion is that you post only one chapter from one story each day. You could do one story on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the other story on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Or you could do a daily chapter from one story until that story is completed, and then do the same for the next story.

At this point in time, I am way behind on Bebe in Lala Land in chapter 8 and I have both Alex and 45th Annual Gala of Tiresias waiting in a separate tab for some extra reading time.

I disliked the nonsensical comments of yesteryear like “First!” or “Nice story.” that were so common in the early days. I even went so far as to block a few commenters that only posted a “Nice story” under each and every story they read, just so that I could get to the more significant comments.

I will comment when I have something significant to share or contribute. And I am less likely to comment on individual chapters when binge reading, because I get caught in the flow of the story.

Please Continue

I hope you will please continue to post! I've been really excited to see your works going up here so I can re-read them, but I just haven't had the time to go and read them here yet! I do agree with what someone said about maybe being a little less frequent being helpful for comments since people get overwhelmed. I really hope you continue to post - your works are some of my favorites in this genre! :-)

Short supply of comments

Hi Clara,

Personally I've really enjoyed reading all your stories posted here so far. I'm not particularly good at writing comments but I do try to hit the kudos button on all the stories I read. Basically unless something jumps out at me to comment on I tend to assume that the kudos button is the same as writing a comment equivalent of "Great story, thanks for sharing", which is what my comment would probably be. If you'd like these types of comment them let us know in your own comments at the top of your pages

On my list . .

As others have already said, Clara, I am delighted that you are posting your stories here.
You have already posted some of my all time favourite stories, and I hope that others will follow ( A trip to Hawaii would be absolutely lovely, hint hint!). I am rereading the stories that you are posting here, and trying to comment too, but I am finding that there are not enough hours in the day!
Best wishes, and please keep posting them.

I don't post comments on everything I read, and I do not regularly visit this site. I have, however, read just about everything you have written, and many over and over again! I was surprised to see you reposting over here, but I want you to know that I check the other site daily for new entries, always hoping for something new from my favorite author in this genre, YOU. I hope you are well, but Clara, it's been almost a year and a half since we've seen a new story! Glad you are going through the old gems, posting them here, but probably most of us have already read them on a (better organized IMHO) different site.
