I am having trouble logging in. When ever I type my pass word, nothing happens. I just get sent back to the home page without being logged in. The only way I can get logged in is to request a new password every time. What am I doing wrong.

I don't know

I can't tell from your description. Please be more specific. Also, what browser and OS are you using, that sometimes helps figure things out.

Erin

Logging In

Thank you your responce. I am using Internet Explorer and Windows XP. When I am on the BC site, I click on the log in button and get the log in screen. I have typed both Hilltopper and my email address. I get the same action with both. I am sent right back to the home page not having been logged in. If I hit get a new pass word, the link that is sent to my email works and get logged in. I have tried changing to several different pass words with same result. I do not know what else to do. I know I am not great with computers, but it is frustrating.

This is going to sound silly...

...but you are typing in the password, right? You don't mention that above. When you type it in, you don't have a numlock or shiftlock key down, do you? Passwords are case sensitive. Other than that, all I can think of is for you to download Firefox or Safari and try that. Do you have this problem with other sites?

Erin

Passwords

Firefox has a useful facility that offers you the choice to store usernames and passwords for different sites. It's particularly useful for non-critical sites, like on-line shops which insist on passwords before you can buy anything.

I find it useful. The passwords can be different for different sites and are protected on your PC by a master password.

The problem is with The settings of Your Browser

The page needs to set under tools/options under IE to allow the page in the secure zone, allow it to accept cookies, and allow pop ups. Just copy and paste the addy there. under the secure zone addition, add the letter 's' to http to make it https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf. Do the same in firefox using tools/options under the tab Content and allow pop up images adding the Bc web addy and load images automatically, and again on the Privacy tab to accept cookies by adding the bc web addy.

Cookie rejection is what you are experiencing. its being blocked on your end, hence, your pword is not being sent and saved to us.

Cookie Rejection?

How could he? I've never met a cookie I didn't like, even the ones with coconut on top that gets stuck in my teeth. :-)

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;-)

Https and Http

It probably is your browser cookie settings but I'm doubtful of the idea of setting https: as the needed protocol. I do not have the server on this end set up to serve Topshelf pages via https.

I Give Up

I am sorry to cause this bother. It kind of follows the rest of my life. I give up.

Possibly a Really Dumb Question...

But if you're not successfully signing in, why is "submitted by Hilltopper" (as opposed to Guest Reader) coming up at the top of the message?

Eric

Signing In

I used the "request a new pass word" method. It is the only way I can get signed on. When I do this, it automatically signs we on so I can change my pass word which never works. I can live with it if it does not cause the system any problems. I don't have any problems with other web sites, so I am confused as usual.

Posting

I have no idea how to do what you said in your post.
Don't worry, I will never post again. Thank you for your help anyway.
