THE BLOSSOMING OF MAXIMO OLIVEROS
Tuesday January 20 at 3:45AM
Saturday January 24 at Noon
Wednesday January 28 at 12:45PM
Eastern time, I believe...
Appeared at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival
Auraeus Solito's award-winning audience charmer ventures into Manila's slums for an unconventional love story, centering on a flamboyantly gay 12-year-old from an extended family of petty thieves. After a rookie policeman (J.R. Valentin) rescues Maxi (Nathan Lopez) from a bashing by a bunch of street thugs, cross-dressing Maxi falls head over heels for his hunky savior. Yet soon family obligations collide with Maxi's new crush and the world of law and order that he personifies. Winner of three major awards at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival.
Editorial note:
It seems unclear that Maxi is "just" gay, as his gender identity seems uncertain at very least. The ease with which the family handles this is interesting, teasing Maxi about needing money to buy maxipads, whilst Maxi insists on the style with "wings."
There's also a weekly show on Women's Entertainment (WEtv), Sex Change Hospital, about the Trinidad, Colorado surgery centre, featuring Dr Marci Bowers.

TG On British TV channel 5
Darn!!! Why couldn`t it be on 4, then I could watch it on the internet.
US Showing
It's scheduled to be shown on the Lifetime women's cable network on January 25th. Perhaps someone might record it for you?
Lifetime sometimes releases old shows on DVD, so that may be another alternative. There *appears* to be a copy available on amazon.com, for example, at *only* US$125 plus shipping (why not buy two?), but it seems simpler to arrange to catch it on the telly, since Lifetime repeats shows *all* the time.

THANK YOU for the posting. got lifetime to send me a reminder the day before showing.
Resource...
The Internet Movie Database *sometimes* tracks cable showings of at least some movies made for TV. That's where I found it.

It's a film
so I don't think they show them on the internet.
