As everybody here knows, Sephy is right now recuperating from corrective surgery she received in Thialand. She is having a very difficult time recovering due to complications.

She is in agony most of the time and can't do much more than lay in bed as she is on the net. I ask that everybody here either leave a comment here wishing her a speedy recovery or sending her a P.M.

Healing

Sephrena,

I pray that God will give you the strength to recover and the peace that only comes when pain is relieved. May you be richly blessed and healed soon.

God bless and may He give you peace.

I read Sephrena's blog about her problems. Dang. I hope she finds some way to accelerate her healing. There must be some natural remedy that she isn't allergic to.

Get well soon, Sephrena!

One would think, though it stings a bit ..

50 to 70% alcohol as the active antiseptic agent and an unscented paper toweling or even 100% cotton cloth as the wipe it's self would be unlikey to trigger an allergic responce.

All those perfumes and masking scents are often a trigger of allergic or irritant responses as is latex or the compounds used often with latex. Your doctor or a good allergist might have suggestions on products with minimal allergic potential. Alcohol at 50 to 70 % is an old but FDA approved topical antiseptic good for cuts and scrapes and the like but it stings a bit. Iodine solutions are effective but not yet considered safe for home use, it's so strong thus it is used as a surface prep before surgery or they use these variants on it, Provodine I think is one name. Ang's in the medical field so she knows this stuff. Peroxide helps to clean a wound but is not considered effective in the strength a consumer can buy and it stings like hell as it dries. Merthiolate is of questionable effectiveness and as I believe it is a mercury compound it is best avoided.

How do I know this, I fell off my bike a lot as a kid and was in the Y and the Scouts. You get well acquainted with minor first aid with these.

Best Wishes

for you to recover quickly and well Sephy! I have all kinds of weird reactions to medications too. Its a real problem but remember to check in with your regular doctor who knows you better. Maybe they can find a work around that'll do the job for you. In any case you have the best medicine in the world waiting for you, True Love! ;)

Hugs!

I was lucky enough to meet Sephrena while I was in Chonburi and she not only helped me clean up my kludged-up laptop but turned me onto this group....I understand that she is headed home tomorrow.....egads, a 20-hour flight for her....mine was 18-hours and that was bad enough. She has certainly had her problems with allergies and I am hoping that they are on the mend....at least, the doctor managed to find a solution for the itch that she couldn't scratch herself....
