I was wondering if anyone could help me find an old music video I once saw from when I was a kid.

I admit the lot of this comes from from memory fragments so I would understand the large difficulty with this. So, without further adiou (did I spell that right? Doesn't matter) here's what I can remember:

It was sung by a female artist, the mv (music video) may have first presented between the mid-80's to mid-90's. (sorry for not being able to narrow down further)

The "story" of the mv is of a girl, presumably having night terrors, sitting on her bed and the normal wall across from her gets pulled away into the darkness to be replaced by a wall of mechanical arms with blades and buzz saws. (possibly animated by stop motion?) this part repeats a few times.

Around the end, the artist is suddenly wearing old style armor (barbarian?) and is armed with a sword. She then begins posing in this outfit while swinging her sword.

The mv ends with the girl (who's now joined with a friend, can't remember where the friend came from) still sitting on her bed watching the wall of blades (damaged by the artist with her sword) pulls away into the darkness.

This mv has been bugging me in the back of my mind off and on so any help would be grateful if only to confirm if my mind was making things up.

Can you help narrow it down

Can you help narrow it down at all? Like genre and country of origin? You've got me curious and wanting to watch the video as well.

I'll try.

It's been so long ago so I can't give much more info so..

I *think* (being the operative word) I saw it on mtv I was in Canada at the time.

Aside from the genre clearly not being "country", I can't say. At this moment in time, I want to say the song was similar to evanesence, but again, it doesn't feel quite right It *could* be a romance ballad but what I can recall, it seems to be more of a self empowerment kind of song.

Sorry, it's not much more to go on.
