So. I'm getting up the gumption to post a story of my own. It's been long enough and the directory where I write is getting full. Maybe it is time to leap over this chasm into the, what do we call it? Into the amateur tg fiction publishing universe. I have a couple questions:
First: Is the ++Fiction page the right place to do that?
Second: Are you really expected to copy and paste in your whole story? or does the "File attachments" subform deal with that?
Third: How do I ask for an editor? I know that my writing is rough. A glance over by an editor would likely help me avoid too many silly mistakes.
Thanks for any hints or clues you might have.

First: Yes
First: Yes
Second: You can upload a file using the file attachments, but it will appear as a downloadable file and you won't be able to view the story text in the browser. If you want your story text to be readable in the browser copy and paste is the way to go.
Third: You can ask for one in a blog post. Plenty of people here have been generous enough over the years to help me with editing or beta reading.

Use the 'Add A Story' link in the right-hand column under your name.
I'm not sure it goes anywhere different but that's what I use.
When you're filling in the form, make sure you check out all the different drop-downs, otherwise you'll get 'none' for that option. For some of them you can Ctrl-click to select more than one choice.
How you copy your text into the body field will vary according to what editor/word processor you used and what format you decided to save it in. Once you have copied it in, try the effect of changing the 'text format' underneath and see what difference that makes in the preview.
When you get to the bottom you'll be faced with an inscrutable dropdown labeled 'Book'. This isn't actually a book: that's the Drupal term for that feature. Click on it and scroll down to find your own name. That may cause another dropdown to appear, where you can, if so desired, choose where to place your story. If you have something of more than one or two chapters you'll need to get into creating organizing pages. There is help for that.
Good luck!

Both options -- <++Fiction> at the top and <Add A Story> in the sidebar -- point to the exact same link or URL.

This might help
Bobbie Cabot put this together. A very helpful resource.

Would that be a Crash course?

Google docs is your friend
I have to say the collaborative working tools in Google docs are brilliant. Save your story in the cloud in your personal Gdrive space and share it with people via their Gmail address with Commentator permissions and they can pick out all your errors and you can choose whether to accept their corrections.
When you are comfortable, cut and paste it into BC.
Google is not always your friend
If you are deep in the closet then sgaring anything on Google is IMHO asking for trouble. Google will read everything and use that data to build up their picture of you.
Would you want TG themed adverts to appear that might be visible by your family when you are in the closet?
Email is far more secure (if you don't use a GMail address).
People have to get used to the fact that companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon and the rest of them will use any chance they get to gather data on each and every one of us and then use it against us (in Advertising). A fact of life today I'm afraid. Assume the worst and you won't go far wrong.
