As Binky the Clown would say, "Heeeeeeeeeey, Kiiiiiiiiiiiids!"

As you may or may not know, November is National Novel Writing Month. I am within grasp of achieving something pretty amazing.

If you don't know what National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is, it's a challenge to write a (50,000 word) novel in 30 days. Those of us that know we can do this already have set our sights higher. My personal goal was initially for a half million words -- 500,000 words. But today, it was figured out by me and some friends that I'm on track that if I can keep up this pace, I'll be able to hit a cool million. 7 figures. A thousand thousands of words.

This is writing from scratch, not beginning until November 1st, and finishing no matter what at the stroke of midnight on November 30th.

Now, the group that sponsors NaNoWriMo is The Office of Letters and Light. Non-Profit, and they provide these free programs such as NaNoWriMo and the Young Writers Program to help spark a lifelong love of writing in kids, teens, and adults around the world.

I, being as poor as the proverbial churchmouse, have never been able to donate to them. But they began providing this service to be sponsored, and it occurred to me today that if I'm going for the gusto and trying to hit a MILLION words... well! Why not get some folks to sponsor me and get some donation for NaNoWriMo going? It's a worthy cause, and hey, maybe I'll be able to one day publish the story I'm writing.

This year, I'm writing a SteamPunk novel, with a dose of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, Supernatural... fun stuff. I'm writing it in an episodic format, kind of like a string of short stories featuring the same characters. This way, I don't run out of adventures to write about, or lose track of my plots in the vast storyline.

The title I've chosen for this (epic) work is:

Persephone Pertwill's Perseverance Pertaining Perilous Politics Piloting Putrefying, Pugnacious, Piratical Psychopathy

Doesn't that just trip pleasingly off of the tongue? Heh.

So, I'm going for it. And if you feel like adding your sponsorship to me headlong flight into a million words, go to the fundraising page I've set up:

The title sounds like

a small outbard moter.

I LOVE it.

Good luck.
