David Weber the Sci-fi author of Off Armageddon's Reef has an interview up at Baen.com. The novel has some TG in it but not as part of the main story. David Weber is the author of the popular Honor Harrington series as well as others. His books has strong women as their heroines and tend to be military sci-fi. I know that in the past his books has been mentioned and thought the interview would be of interest. One thing he did say that I agree with one hundred percent is that the only bad thing with writing is it leaves you with less time to read! Enjoy all! http://www.baen.com/

I'd like to see a sequel..

from what I understood it's
from what I understood it's going to be another epic like the Honor Harrington stuff..
I'm certainly waiting for the next book.
The Story Continues
September 2008 - By Schism Rent Asunder
This is not so much a sequel as the continuation of the story. And...not to spoil it for y'all...clearly there must be a book 3 or even 4! I would have to say that the TG element is a pretty minor part of the story as a whole. Real good read tho'.
book 3 comes out in late 2009
It is called by heresies distressed(sp?). He is working on the next 2 honor harrington novels currently. shadow of saganomi 2 is already up at baen as a E-arc. Erik flint is working on the sequel to his harrington book. And HH12 is currently being written for a early 2010 pub date. Also a new harrington anthology is under way for a 2010 pub date as well.
The safehold series, as reef is called, is a minimum 6 books. Mr Weber has said there is likely to be more after them.
a good place to catch up on the honorverse
http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/ Baen allows you to read those books as long as buy some eventually. It is totally legal to read or download the cd's. Baen has full knowledge and has helped the guy hosting those cd's.
My very bestest favoritest Author
I was absolutely bereft when I discovered that the Honor Harrington was basically finished. He is a somewhat difficult writer to read, but his stories are so interesting, I just trudge through the rough spots.
I don't think I have taken the time in quite a while to sit down and read a print book in quite a while since there are such good authors here.

Honor Lives!
As I understand it, the original intention was to kill Honor off at the end of At All Costs. Her last words were supposed to be something like: "For God's Sake, stop this nonsense!"
Then it was supposed to pick up around 30 years in the future with Honor's children taking on Mesa.
When Eric Flint joined the writing team, the timeline got revised, with the Torch and the Talbot sector pieces split off and moved backwards. I'm not sure how many books he's got left in the series, but "Mission of Honor" is the next mainline book after "At All Costs", in early 2010 as someone else just said.
However, I thought the collection was for later in 2009, not 2010. The last I heard, as of a couple of months ago, there was just one story that wasn't finished, and he said he might have to write a fill-in because it was possible that the scheduled author might not be able to finish it because of health issues.

Honor is Eternal
I read the same thing about At All Costs, and I'm so very glad that he decided to let Honor live. If she does eventually pay the ultimate price, it really should be in a manner such as Edward Saganami. The way things ended in At All Costs, if it had been Honor among the dead I would have found it very unsatisfying.
What makes Honor such a tremendous character isn't her 'greatness', it's that she passes some of herself on to all those she touches who are willing to learn from her. The officers that serve under her are made better by the experience. Personally I, and I'm sure pretty much every other fan of the series, don't want her to die a heroic death. The most satisfying end for me would be her returning to Saganami Island to teach full time. Imagine the story that could come from that in the future, when little Raoul grows up and inevitably attends the Academy where he has to deal with the pressure of being the son of The Salamander.
According to his page at Baen:
I already have Storm From The Shadows on pre-order. Shadow of Saganami was absolutely awesome and I can wait for the next installment!
Thanks for the link to the interview, Grover. It was very cool to hear him.

The collection got pushed
The collection got pushed back to 2010 due to other issues. The story hold up was on anne macaffrey's short, which she is supposedly trying to polish up as we speak.
Also honor got saved from dying by nimitz. I think it was Mr Weber's wife who said one or the other but not both honor and nimitz buying it. So honor stays, and since tourville is gonna take Alistair McKeon's place in honor's life going ahead.............maybe.
It was nice
to hear one of my favorite authors talk about what he liked to read and his thoughts on different things. His take on Star Trek was nice as well as his thoughts on Battle Star, and B-5. I understand that he is going to continue the Honorverse but not necessarily from Honor's viewpoint.
On an another note the TG is minor Off Armageddon's Reef but of note anyways for someone who'd made the NY times best seller list. Besides I love his stories particularly the Excalibur Alternative. Reminded me so much of Poul Andersen's High Crusade.
