Sadly this is one of the last stories she posted before going missing back in 2001. I went back and read it. I didn't remember much of details but did remember the plot line after reading a little.

...and one of my favorite authors in the genre, though long inactive. (She's not Samantha Michelle Davies, who posts here as Samantha MD.)
Her complete version of I Am Not Alone, a Tuck fanfic, is on Ellen Hayes's site, along with a couple of follow-ups (without Tuck) featuring her side characters there. (I mention all that because an incomplete version is on StorySite and FM, unless things have changed over the past 10 or 15 years.) Helps, of course, if you know the first six months or so of the Tuck saga; a lot changed for Tuck after it was written.
