Olympic Pictures
I would suggest nbcolympics.com It's where I've been watching the events, too. Naturally, it's American oriented, but what the heck.

Olympic Photos
Sports Illustrated has a good site: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/2008/photos/archive/
Yahoo Sports is good too: http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing
I have been using photos from both sites to keep an updated Olympic screensaver.
Beijing Olympic Events We'd Like To See
...seems like an excellent piece for MAD magazine or somewhere.
The "events" of course would all be facetious pseudo-sports,
each a satirical commentary on the Chinese Government.
Tienamen Tank Hockey and the like. Anyone have any?

TG Gymnast
I'd like to see a story where the Chinese government needs a gymnast to replace one of their girls. A young, short, superbly talented male gymnast is trained to be a member of the Chinese Women's Olympic Team and is appropriately "altered" to fit into the suit (and to make certain moves on the balance beam a little easier). Afterwards, suspicion of where the new girl came from forces the government to make sure she stays female for the rest of her life.
Could be a funny comedy.

Maybe but I wonder
Given the embarrassment of the alleged underage gymnasts, would a small male slipped in as a female have to go whole hog in live to maintain the mask, as you say, aardvark? If they just disappeared after the Olympics like so many East Germans did, it would be a giveaway to the press and Olympic organizers.
I can see an authoritarian govt with the acquiescence of a poor, patriotic family and the boy, female organs are implanted from a near perfect match -- hey there are a lot of people in China after all -- and all they need is a good match to an accident victim, or given the govt, a prisoner or even some poor teenager they could convince to do her patriotic duty. Another variant would be his girlfriend is the match and they swap bits for their country.
They have many excellent scientists and are engaged in massive espionage World wide. Likely they could discover a technique to alter her genes so she really is a female version of herself, maybe even with a few performance enhancing tweaks. Maybe like in the serial here, Acidalia, the virus used to transport the new genes gets loose and much of the world becomes female and very athletic.

P.S. There would have to be a limiting factor, maybe supceptablity is based on blood type or some other genetic componet.
