Why did you get rid of bookmarks and when people post things that is the worst thing you guys could have done I love that it I could go back to stories that I've previously read or if I'm waiting for a story and forgot all about it I can just go back to my bookmarks and find it and read the rest of the story this is bull that you got rid of it also went the day when people post it getting rid of that was also a pain because then I don't know when new stories come into effect it's just bull I liked it the waste site was previously
Are You Sure They Are Gone Gone ?
The server upgrades have resulted in some strangeness and an incomplete and even unavailable website at times. I recommend you send Piper or Erin a note.
Take a deep breath
Please, take a deep breath, or whatever relaxation technique works for you.
Then, re-read Rule 1, Rule 2, and Rule 3.
Finally, rephrase your issue as a non-confrontational question to the site administrators.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}
Just to be clear ...
You don't own the site, Erin does.
Me too
That's odd. Mine seem to have disappeared as well. It says I haven't bookmarked any content.

How about gratitude instead of attitude?
This is a FREE site that is largely supported by reader donations and minimal, noninvasive advertising. For Piper and her team this site is a labor of love. There are many talented authors here who are offering the literary fruit of their labors for FREE. Glitches happen here; they even happen on subscriber paid sites with lots of staff and other resources.
I, for one, grumble to myself momentarily when thee is a glitch or the site is down. Then I give thanks to Piper and crew and the authors for the gift of the site and its wealth of stories and resources and wait til the site is back up or the glitches are fixed and then I give thanks again to Piper and crew for their efforts.
Bookmarks.
Odd mine were here earlier today so keep calm and wait for the elves. Hopefully this is just a glitch
as others have suggested
it might be better to be nice, not griping.
first off, updating ANY software/hardware can have unintended consequences/results, lose of some saved data, etc. its a common thing to have a phone tech to tell you to clear your cache to fix an issue, which also removes all your history, saved users, etc. it happens and is a factor of the software limitations, NOT the operator. i honestly doubt that it was intended to happen, but might have been required for some of the upgrade, or is still just in a limbo status as that module has not been fully reintegrated, as stated, SOME upgrades were finished, not all.
secondly, as others have stated, they own and run the site, and allow US to use it with no MANDATORY charge, and great personal cost in time, money and frustration to themselves. if it was a pay for use site, you MIGHT have a reason to complain. some of us give what we can, when we can. some can afford to give regularly, etc. some cant afford to give much at all. they are very understanding and have tried many other avenues for revenue, cost reductions, etc, while still keeping the site up, maintained and prospering; not to mentioned updated so browsers and AV software doesnt refuse to come here for lack of security.
just an idea, but one i think might be worth thinking on, if not enacting?

Temporary problems
We are working on servers. There will be glitches.

There was this minister...
Back in the early 80's there was this minister who used to come down to Heisler Park in Laguna Beach California every Sunday 1 pm after closing up his church and feed the homeless. He did this every Sunday rain or shine for the 3 years I was a Lagunatic and had been doing it for a long time before that, in spite of our general lack of receptiveness to what he was selling and his frequently being hassled by the cops for helping us. One day he had some problem and was about fifteen minutes late but managed to get there, out of breath and lugging his big 50 pound box of sandwiches. Just as he was approaching Wino Billy cried out, real surly:
We never saw Pastor Michael again...
