I've come across the expression that a woman (65, BTW) was wearing "car to carpet heels". What exactly was she wearing? Google produced hits about heels making holes in (car) carpets ...

It means she took her heels off to drive, thus from carpet to car.

Ever driven in stiletto heels, especially tall ones? There is a reason most of us keep a pair of flats in the car. Car to carpet heels are shoes that can make the transition from car to inside without having to change shoes. It's a vague description and can be taken several ways depending on the reader's imagination. Much like the term "fuck me" (FM) heels. I normally wear 3"-4" heels, to me the term means 5"+heels basically. Other women consider my normal heel height as FM heels. The style of shoe comes into play also, again depending on the viewer's opinions.

Edit: Annachie makes a good point also. Shoes that you wouldn't want to walk very far in. Again, a subjective opinion.
