I've been dealing with a lot of stress lately when it comes to my sister. I know people are probably tired of me bloging about it. I'm sorry. Today was extremely stressful for me. After talking about it with a good friend, I desided that it was time to come out to my sister. I am not strong enought to tell her over the phone so I sent her a email. I called her and told her I was sending it to her and I swore her to secrecy. I gave her the addresses of some informational sites. Hopefully she'll look at them.

I guess now all I can do is pray.

I don't know your family and I don't know you too well (yet) Jessica;
so I can't say if this was a good or bad move on your part right now.
What I DO know about for sure is where you said "I know people are probably
tired of me blogging about it"...... PSSSHHHAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!
Have you read some of the trivial blogs (including mine) here? If anything is real blog
material it is a big scary decision like you made. You blog what you want to, Honey!
Best of luck, I pray that your sister will be accepting from the get go, and if not...
well you have us. Sometimes sisters (and some decent brothers here too)
are where you find them...
~~~hugs, Laika
Feel free to blog.
I can't think of a site that is more appropriate for your blogging. Big Closet is designed to be a friendly place transgender people and those who love and admire them. Anyone who enjoys this site is going to understand, or at least accept your challenges and triumpths.
We all read fictional accounts of the journey that you are starting. Why, then, would we not want to read a genuine biographical account as it happens.
So please, feel free to vent, share you triumpths, disappointments, happiness, and frustrations. I honor your courage, and I'm sure that most of the people here agree with me.
Remember that very little good happens without courage. I am reminded of a song that expresses that very well.
It's the heart that fears the breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never learns takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
who can not seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
that never learns to give
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long;
and you think that love is only for the lucky, and the strong;
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow,
lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring, becomes the rose.
Hey, we all been there.
It took me a long time to tumble to the idea that I was not the only one suffering. No one here ever yelled at me, though I know that some would like to swat me on the bottom at times. I'd like it too. giggle.
