Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me find a story I remember enjoying a while ago, but I can't remember its title or where I read it.

The premise of the story is: a man is trying to commit suicide, and to keep the mess for other people to a minimum he does so by going camping and injecting himself with ?unprogrammed? nanobots that will reduce him and his tent to nothing. But he gets involved in a fight between a criminal and nanobot-enhanced woman. He tries to save her, but in doing so becomes 'infected' with her nanobots. The woman dies anyway, but her nanobots combine with those already in his bloodstream and turn him into her.

I believe the woman was some sort of international of interplanetary 'supercop' and her partner shows up shortly after, and grudginly takes him/her with her to complete the mission.

Any help in finding this story would be greatly appreciated!
