Hi folks
There is a book on Amazon by one of our authors. Does anybody here publish as Holly Dunn? If so ok but otherwise I think someone has stolen lastboyscouts story-the generals daughter.

That's interesting.
I've edited for both LBS (Cometh the Hour Cometh the Woman) and Holly Dunn (YOLO) in the past but neither of them seem to be on the BC list of authors. Funnily enough I can't find LBS's story posted anywhere. It was back in 2012 that we worked on that story and I can't for the life of me remember what happened except that he was going to be publishing SF stories professionally.
My memory lapses are quite common. I know I edited some stories in the past but when I see them I can't remember a thing about the plot :)
There is another story currently on Amazon that is either plagiarised or the original writer (Amy Brett) is posting under another name. The new name is "My New Life" posted by Tracy Holden. The Old title is "The New Secretary" and it's on FM. I posted a 'review' saying as much a few days ago.

As you youngsters say :) I forgot the definite article and was looking under 'L'. It seems my efforts weren't for nought after all. A pity he decided to end it there because there was a lot of story left.

The synopsis on Amazon does seem very similar, but perhaps different enough to have been reworked from the original, IMO moreso than your average plagiarist bothers; the only way to know for sure is to hear it from the author. I think all we can do is highlight anything we are suspicious of both here and on Amazon and see what response we get.

It's on Kindle Unlimited so I downloaded it just now and compared it with LBS's General's Daughter (which I may read because I can't remember any of it!). The Amazon posting ends exactly the same as the one here. I haven't read it all, obviously but it's the same word for word at the start and the end. Holly Dunn is a genuine original writer so perhaps her name has been copied, too just like Tanya Allan's was a few weeks ago.
Well spotted. Perhaps those who steal what they think are old stories posted on 'obscure' sites don't realise how many of us are likely to recognise them and call them on it.

Is it possible the Holly is LBS? We have had other writers who have taken their stories down so that they could publish them on Amazon.
I have read works by holly dunn through other sites
the real Holly Dunn has a deviant art page and she has published commics through others I have read her stories on fictomania this does not look like her writing to me someone may be trying to pull a fast one here.
