so i'm curious if we have any stories out there told from a bully/mean person's point of view. We see a lot of stories about victims who are generally nice but I'm curious if there are any stories out there that follow a 'bad guy's' redemption?

*lol* thanks

I still love that story.

In general bullies are boring.

There were couple of stories where bullies happened to be transsexual, but whole story from the perspective of plain bully? It is just plain boring...
(And no, I can't remember the story name or author... There was a good one where boy bullied in school falls in love with girl who happened to be a boy bulliing him in school... If anyone remembers the name of the story please?)

Been working on one for sometime

It's called "Curse You, Red Barron" about a womanizing sleazoid who runs afoul of a coven of witches. Been done, I know, but I was having some fun with it but don't intend to post until it is finished. :)

There is another one but I can't remember the name / author, plot goes something like this:-

Bully gets caught one time too many and ends up in court and the judge sentences him to a reform house, but this is just the beginning.
The choice is that he goes dressed as a girl, also reform house is a house for girls.
Sheriff that delivers him later relocate to area.
and if my addled memory serves while at the house s/he outs the staff doctor as a Paedophile.

Aunt Jane.

Author - Tigger, stories about Aunt Jane Thompson and her "girls".

Somewhere in New England, there sits a house - a mansion really - where young men, whose lives are on the fast track to disaster, are sent to have their attitudes adjusted and their futures turned around. Ms. Jane Thompson, owner of this Victorian style mansion, takes on these young misfits and serves as their tormentor, teacher, disciplinarian and spirit guide as they learn other, more socially acceptable ways of dealing with their darker emotions than violence or rage.

GR, Don't Forget

The forced feminization, femdom, humiliation and brainwashing. Sometimes the cure is worse than the problem, turning mean boys into Stepford Girls sits rather low on the morality scale.

Madam Thompson and her methods.

You see, I intentionally don’t produce neither moral, nor a legal estimation of these stories. Otherwise my commenting was huge like a Torah and severe like the criminal code. The help in searching of the story was the purpose of my commenting only.

You are right in an estimation of these stories. I read these stories and not quite happy about madam Thompson and her methods. To said by you may be added blackmail and incitement to suicide . Your estimation of these stories can be applied to many stories of a category "bad boy to good girl". Nevertheless similar stories are SOOOO popular. Many authors have made to themselves a name on them...

Full Disclosure

I feel when recommending a story or group of stories that the potential reader should have all the information regarding what they will find once they get started. "I told you there were icebergs out there, if you should hit one you were warned." I've been rudely surprised (and shocked) before by lurking booby-traps I wasn't expecting. Some writers deliberately leave off essential keywords for fear they will give the plot away. This gets them onto my ignore list very quickly.

The second part of my comment addresses what I think about such stories. If given a choice I will not read or comment on that type of story. I agree with you that they are popular with many people, likely goes along with the premise that some want a situation where they (or the protagonist, that is) are compelled to make changes they secretly want to happen while leaving them with plausable deniability.

But being caught by surprise while reading a story can result in my ptsd flashbacks going off, which is not a good thing. It generally takes anywhere from a couple of days to a week or longer to recover from one of these. The nightmares are the worst.

Sadly, the doctor hasn't found any medication that will help me without wiping me out mentally. So, no, in spite of their obvious popularity I do not read them and have a hard time understanding why others do. I have a large ignore list. It is mostly comprised of authors whose stories could trigger a panic attack. When one of them posts a story that seems good, then I 'unignore' them. To each his or her own, as long as I can avoid those types of stories I'm a happy camper.

Recommendations.

You are right about it. But, allow to note, I did not give any recommendations. The question contained criteria to which one there should match the story. The answer matches to these criteria. Me did not ask the "good" story or of "bad". For the matter of that, if closely read the citation from my answer, further explanations it is not required.

To give categories to stories - the responsibility (if not legal, at least moral) authors. We have no neither authorities, nor a capability to do it for them. If the author has not considered it necessary to assign this or that category to the story, it is his or her private affair. We only need to accept it "as is".

Many thanks for explanations. I have perceived your thought from the first. You should not chew it to me. I too prefer not to deal with certain type of stories, despite their popularity. As for popularity... Сruelty and violence always were popular. Gladiatorial battles of ancient Rome, severe executions of the Middle Ages, "ultimate fightings" today.

Yes! That's it!

Thanks!
That is a story about bully I mentioned above!

& yet another story I shoulda woulda coulda wrote.

laika's picture

I was going to write one about a bullied trans-kid who after a day of the absolute cruelest abuse at school has gotten home and at the thought of all the days like that to come has just about reached a point of suicidal desperation, the question that keeps ringing in his/her head is "WHY? WHY? WHY?, What have I ever done to anybody to deserve this?"

...when suddenly he's brought out of the futuristic "mind-movie" he's been subjected to, the helmet with all the wires has been shut off and is being lifted off his head by the counselor, corrections officer or whoever, and he's lying on a table, realizing he's not the t.g. kid but one of the worst of the bullies who had driven the kid to eat a bottle of pills; and he really finally gets it, that what he'd been through was just a few hours of what the real victim had been experiencing all school year, and that he shouldn't be a bully, it's just a fuctup thing to do; And then his dad is driving him home from this court mandated rehabilitation session, resentful and complaining about how the state is so out of control a guy can't even pick on a damn dress wearing freak like that, that this is brainwashing and trying to turn everyone into a bunch of touchy feely wussies who think any kind of deviance is ok, so you see where the young bully got it from, and the kid is still shaken from the simulation and going like wow I never realized what a TOTAL DICK my old man is, I'm not gonna be like him anymore..... which might've been a good story if I wrote it, but I didn't.

I've actually started writing again so maybe I'll start it, but it's not really on my immediate list, which seems to have about 5 years worth of projects, so if anyone wants the idea (tentative title EMPATHY), have at it.
