That sounds kind of desperate, doesn't it? I'm not, really. Just sort of frustrated.

I have a really good family doctor I share with my wife and kids, and we all love her, but my wife is worried on the off chance she wasn't OK with me being TS it'd ruin her relationship with the rest of the family. She (the doctor) seems pretty open-minded but she has expressed surprisingly conservative viewpoints on occasion. I don't want to take a chance of ruining a good thing for the rest of my family, so I'm trying to find a good trans-friendly GP I can go to in the future. I live in Seattle; if anyone from around here has a recommendation for someone, preferably with a practice nearby, I'd really appreciate it. I've visited the Ingersoll Center's web site, and followed their link for trans health resources to Verbena Health, but after two weeks they haven't responded to my email inquiry, hence my frustration.

Of course the reason I'd need to tell my GP about my trans status is that I want to start talking about HRT, or at least androgen blockers. That's also why I'm looking for an experienced endocrinologist. I actually saw an endo two years ago for unexplained mood changes and sensitive nipples that turned out to be "idiopathic bilateral gynecomastia" (about which I had somewhat mixed feelings, not being "out" to my wife at the time; but mostly just wished I could have had a more severe case as they're hardly noticeable). But I don't know if she has any experience with administering HRT to trans patients, and I rather suspect from the location of her practice she might be more pricey than I can afford when not covered by insurance. I expect a trans-friendly GP would be able to refer me to an appropriate endocrinologist though, so this referral isn't as necessary.

Finally, I was hoping someone could point me at a good (on-line) spousal support group for my wife. She tried to find one on her own but the only one she could find wouldn't take her unless I was living full-time, apparently.
