If my book signing comes off, I fully intend to publicize other books written by you, as well as talk about those who haven't published yet, but who have more than enough talent to publish.

What I need to know from ALL of you is, do you WANT me to talk about your work by story titles and pseudonym, or do you want to remain in 'stealth' mode?

This is a big point for me, and your feedback is important, because this could, I feel, be very important for us ALL. I know I'm going on and on about this, but I want, SO much, for the 'straight' 'normal' world to see and recognize the immense talents in the TG genre.

We have, within our little niche, some wonderful, talented, inventive writers who can challenge anything that exists 'out there', who are, as you know, writing for their own satisfaction and the occasional 'nicely done' comment. I simply feel that they deserve more than that...I feel that YOU deserve more than that!

Anyway, let me know. I won't post about this again, until after it happens, if it does happen. Please understand that I really feel that this is not just for me...it's for all of you that I'm even considering this signing.

I want you to feel good about yourself at the signing. If my books were published in the latest editions I would feel good about them being out there. If Erin wants to update them all to the latest editions with Lulu, I would feel okay about you discussing them.

For example, I just did a rewrite of "Peaches". That is a book that should have wider circulation because of its message about tolerance and acceptance. Although I can't speak for Amelia, I think she would want it to have as wide a circulation as possible for the same reasons. I've edited every one of the books held for sale and would be happy to supply the updates to Erin.

I'm not interested in the money from selling books. That all goes to supporting BC.

Yes

I would like to be mentioned if for no other reason that it's long been a dream of mine to be published ever since I read my first Heinlein book, "Have spacesuit, will Travel." Considering my present financial situation getting a few dollars would be nice. However I won't take down any story of mine just to make a few bucks. BCTS is family and you always treat family special. Too many times the stories here has lifted my spirits and my heart when the world at large seems intent on grounding me into the dirt. If my crude scribbles can do the same for others than there is no way I'm going remove a single one. If the unlikely day comes that I'm requested by a publisher to do so then at least a part of that will go to BCTS. With that said Catherine, You go girl!!!!
Hugs and good luck!!!

Wow

Edeyn That would be very nice of you. I'm trying to get short stories and novel-length and I've got some postings on the net (here and Fictioneer, mostly)... all under my name - Edeyn Hannah Blackeney - so if you feel like doing so, feel free! If you want more info to be able to provide, just ask!

Wasn't it Jim Henson who said, "Without faith, I am nothing," after all? No, wait, that was God... Sorry, common mistake to make...

All opposed?

Hi Catherine,
Feel free to mention, or not to mention my stuff. It's very polite of you to ask us,
you want to do this right, but I would think that anyone posting stories on a global
public forum like this has tacitly opened the gate to public discussion of whatever they've
submitted here; if not (and I don't think you would) real names where they diverge from the author-name
or personal details outlined in comments & blogs. Does this make sense, that it would generally be okay?
This might be the time & place for any who WOULDN'T want to be mentioned to hollar.
~hugs, best of luck & of times at the book signing, Laika

Remain Stealth publicly

That is my desire -- to remain stealth. That is why I have gone to Fictioneer.org and have written a story like "Prarie's Children". In it, I am using my legal name and not my pen name.

My Lizzie Jane stories, such as "The Long Journey", "County Girl", "Guns are not for Little Boys", and "Young Love" can be used as regular stories.

The two that cannot is "The Beginning" and "Lizzie Jane Becomes a Woman" since those have intersexed subjects.

I have been trying to find some way to get "The Long Journey" published and have been thinking about "Prairie's Children", also.

Erin has already received permission to add "The Long Journey" to her list of on-line books any time she wishes, using my legal name. When she does, she also has permission to remove it from BC.

I would like to get it self-published in hard copy, too, but I don't understand the costs. (I don't think any publisher would want my sub-standard work.)

Love,
Billie Sue

I Would Not Presume

I wouldn't presume to think that anything of mine would warrant mention, but in the unlikely event that you felt compelled to do so, feel free.

Thus far all of my non-Gaby stories are intertwined within the same "universe" with the exception of the short story "Coda", in case anyone cares :)

Best wishes on your book signing

I'm not published--heck, my one and only novel is still a work-in-progress, only about three-quarters finished--but if you think mentioning it (or me) could be of some benefit to somebody, by all means, feel free. Thanks for asking first, and kudos for your selfless offer to promote deserving authors from this site. And there are a number who deserve a wider audience.

Well, If It Will Help

Then use my stories and name,.

May Your Light Forever Shine

Let me be VERY specific about this.

Without EXPRESS permission from a writer, I will NOT mention their name or their story titles, as much as I might WANT to. I realize that I am somewhat limiting myself to writers who post at Top Shelf, but since this is where things began to break good for me, I feel I owe my first allegiance to this wonderful place, and those who write and post here. I love this place and I love everyone here. For all the help I have been given, during my long, strange journey toward self realization and actualization, I feel I OWE it to those who have helped, and to those who will follow, to do all I can to help as much as I can.

But ONLY those who give me specific permission to do so, will be mentioned by name and/or by story titles. All the rest, no matter how talented or prolific, will be relegated to 'also wrote' status, and referred to only obliquely. I flatly REFUSE to 'out' anyone who isn't ready, or who prefers to remain in 'stealth mode'.

Of course I want to publicize my book as much as I can, since it means increased revenues for Top Shelf, Erin and, of course, myself, but there are writers right here on Top Shelf that make me look like a second-rate hack, and THEY deserve recognition for their talents, as well as any financial remuneration that might arise from having their works published and recognized.

I got lucky. The stars were in the right alignment and Erin was there at exactly the right moment in time, with the financing and the know-how to get me published. I want to 'pay it forward' and get a foot in the door for the rest of you.

You are wonderful, talented, deserving writers, each and every one of you. You CAN do it, if you dare.

Keep your fingers crossed and thank you for the responses already posted.

I'm in danger of getting agoraphobia!

You can mention me if you like and I'm sure Maddy Bell would welcome some help to shift her books.

Good luck with yours anyhow.

You're welcome to mention me!

Hi Catherine

I have always wanted my stories to do good things for people, be that opening minds or making someone feel like she's not alone. You're more than welcome to mention my username, Mona Lisa and my story titles!

I hope the project is a success!

Lisa

Yes

I don't know if you understood what I meant in my last reply, but, yes, you may mention me as Starla Anne Lowry. That is the name I show on my copyright.

unworthy

My work is most likely unworthy of even being considered, but I would be glad for any comments you have about it.
