How Unfortunate

However, it's his loss. Press on; the best of luck to you.

Hang in there kiddo !

Try not to antagonize them or they will just make it harder to live. Seek help from sympathetic relatives if you have any. See you soon when chat's back up and working. Hugs, Talia

I'm sorry to hear that

perhaps he just needs more time - it might challenge his map of the world, and that's pretty fundamental stuff. Some of it will depend upon your previous relationship with him and some will depend upon how you told him. It's always a good opening gambit to start by asking for their help with a problem you have, especially if they didn't see it coming.

Don't push it but at the same time nurture anything that looks positive and don't let his non-acceptance stop you if it's really what you want to do.

My best wishes for your continuing journey.

Don't write your dad off too quickly. He might not accept you now, but that isn't set in stone. Think of how long he has known you as his son, it will take some time, a grieving period, to get over that. Let the news settle in, and after a little while, talk about it more. Just don't give up hope. I never had a good relationship with my mom, so it was no loss on my end. But if you are on good terms with your dad otherwise, let things soak in for a while.
