As an Eagle Scout myself ( 1973 ), I think this is a huge step forward!
There is an organization for American Scouts, Using the motto of " A Scout is Equal ", the group is called "Scouts for Equality" ( http://www.scoutsforequality.com/ ), and I urge all current and former scouts to check it out!

Always good to know that there's hope. Barely made it through Cub Scouts!;0 Oddly enough, my experience then led to my first story here.
