I used to be logged in automatically each time I came here. Now I have to log in each time I come back. I have the "remember me" box checked, what's happened?
Mr. Ram
Same here
I've been having the same problem but I figured it was 'cause I insist on using that horrible, obsolete browser from The Evil Empire - Internet Explorer 6. Like other things, I just figured I'd deal with it. Glad you spoke up! :-)

IE 6? YUK!!!!
Firefox is the ONLY way to browse!!!
Huggles...
Alexis
P.S. Ok, IF you NEED IE..at least 7 is better than 6...
P.P.S. Actually I have an ADD-ON for Firefox that will load a web page in the IE engine if it doesn't display properly
so you get the best of both worlds :)
To paraphrase
A couple of PM's I got from a reader last year, "Firefox sucks!" and "IE7 sucks even bigger!" In both the icons and the layout are all screwed up, and I simply detest tabbed browsing. And I can't understand why, if FF is so great, why do people have to have all these 'add-ons' to make it work for them? ;-)
Paraphrasing another saying - This old kitty cat has no interest in learning new browsers. :-)

Add-Ons are what MAKES Firefox great
Besides being able to use different themes for the buttons and such (mine is all cats). Add-ons give you a world of customizations that you can choose to use or not use. I have add-ons that display the weather in the menu bar, one that lets me see a thumbnail of other tabs if I move the mouse over them (doesn't help if you hate tabbed browsing). I have one that blocks ads and if images offend you can add them to be blocked. I have an add-on to let me download videos from youtube and other sites...you don't NEED addons, but you WANT them :)
IE7 I think is better than 6, tabbed browsing being a part of that. It also has some security enhancements and protection from some phishing sites.
However, you are always free to use whatever browser you want. IE6, Firefox, IE7, Safari, Opera...
HUGGLES!!!
The site looks the same to me in a lot of browsers
I am viewing Big Closet with Konqueror and Linux, it looks the same to me as it does in Firefox and Linux, Windows XP and Firefox and IE7 with Windows XP.
There are minor differences, like the fonts, but I can adjust those. The general layout is the same with all the browsers and operating systems I have.
Konqueror has tabbed browsing too, I use the crap out of tabs!
Mr. Ram
Just a point...
I'm using the current FF release, with some addons mainly script blockers (BC is on the green list) and I keep getting logged out too. Ergo it might not be the browser that is causing the issues. With that in mind it sounds more likely to be something to do with cookies and sessions not being stored on the server properly... or something.

The same thing happens to me on occasion, alot recently.
Oh well.

Several people have reported this problem
... since the database crash last week. I may have to do some hand repair to the database. Oh joy.

I use several browsers...
... and have the same problem on all: Camino, Safari, Firefox.
Also, the tab key doesn't move through the "submit fiction" form the way
it's supposed to -- it jumps all around. This appeared the same time as
the login thingy.

Me too
I get the problem in Firefox, Safari and Navigator. I don't have IE (thankfully!)
Gabi
Gabi.
I only have that issue..
when I connect from a different ISP. And not even always then. Add to that, I use IE 6.
Go figure.

log ins
I get the same lapse not only here, but over at Stardust, the Gabyzone, Rachel Greenhams site, Joannegrrls site, The Crystal Hall, and Morfs. Plus a few others I check regularly.May not be everytime, but at least every other day, sometimes more often.
Wave a dead chicken time I guess
I have that problm over at the Crystal Hall and to a lesser extent at Stardust, wierd.
I live with it.

P.S. That was a reference to the Hackers Dictionaly ver 2, Wave a Dead Chicken, meaning roughly not having a clue what is wrong with a computer and just trying things at random.

Erin, any Idea of what is causing this?
I still have to log in each time I visit, unless I leave my browser open, then I'm logged in when I come back, not if I shut the browser down, open it up and come back.
Mr. Ram
Me, too
I can be logged in and open a second window to check something, and I'll have to log-in a second time if I need access to something like on my account. Meanwhile the first window is unaffected, I can post, send a PM, or whatever.

That's what the problem everyone is talking about is
I've made several attempts to fix it. No idea why it still goes wrong.
