I'm looking for some new stories to read, so I thought I'd ask you guys here! I like stories that involve male to female transformations - where an unsuspecting guy is transformed into a girl and has to come to terms with his(her) new body, feelings, etc. A great example of the type of story I'm looking for is Kate Draffen - that's my favorite. Something Feels Strange is another one I thoroughly enjoyed, despite the way it ended.
While not essential, I like a gradual, but complete transformation. I wish there was a gradual tag to search for.
Thanks in advance for the reads!
Well, to start:
Have you tried Bob Arnold's "Zapped!" at all? It's kind of what you'd like, but the transformation kinda happens "behind the scenes" rather than in story.
Let's see, a few others:
-Sarah Bayen's "G11: Mistaken Identity" might be something you'd enjoy.
-Maggie Finson's addition to the Whateley universe, "Faye" as well as all the follow up stories, would probably fit your preferences too.
-Again, a faster transformation, but Donna Lamb's "Blue Moon" is a really good one to read too.
-Bek D Corbin's "Of Masks And Marvels" is a lot of fun if you like superheroes, and has the slower transformation going for it.
-Ilean Anne Jerque's "But But But" is a guilty pleasure of mine, delving a lot more into forced femme and a few other areas than I usually feel comfortable with, but might fit your preferences.
There are tons of stories that would fit your preferences out there, and if those extend to stories where the transformation is through surgery as well rather than the more sci fi or fantasy/improbable style settings, then that opens up the options even more.
Lastly, not to toot my own horn or nothin', but my story "Echoes" is going in the route you seem to prefer as well, though possibly at a painfully slow rate :P
Melanie E.
Another suggestion.
I would also suggest Julie O's stories.
I agree...
...with the suggestions made so far.
There is one author whose work sufficiently impressed me that I sought and gained permission to post re-edited versions of the works here. The transformations are M2F, and the unsuspecting transformees do struggle with their changes. The transformations though, are fast and primarily magical, rather than gradual.
Fiction by The Professor
Angharad is another author whose work I really enjoy. She posts a new episode of Easy As Falling Off A Bike here every day, and the latest one was Part 1134. If you get hooked, there's an offsite archive (links below) where you can read the story in blocks of 50 parts. Angharad's other writing is also well worth reading in my opinion.
Other authors here whose work I enjoy reading include Sue Brown, Tanya Allan, Maddy Bell, Lilith Langtree, Tiffany Shar, Megan Campbell, Connie Alexander and Susan Heywood.

I like to write stories like that, where a guy becomes a girl and has to deal with it, ultimately finding a way to do so on his(her) own terms.
There's Warrior From Batuk, here on BC, and The Improbable Tale of Colonel Reginald Leyton-Smyth, Come On You Girls, and Sappho on FM.
By me, natch. :-)
If you haven't read the classics, I strongly suggest Christopher Leeson's work, Under The Moons Of Eden, The Big Switch, and (with Elli Dauber), The Eerie Saloon series, which is still going on.

Anything by Lilith Langtree is a safe bet. Enjoyable, funny, witty, deep, she's incredibly talented. Can't get enough :-)

It's Only Teenage Wasteland
Amy Komori's series about a teenage boy who mysteriously becomes female and a few years younger, who at first tries to deal with the change through sheer attitude and bravado is one of my favorites; I wish it was here at BCTS but it's not, it's materializing chapter by chapter over at Fictionmania after being pulled & rewritten. It's a refreshing take on the teen tg subgenre because she and her friends are the misfit unpopular kids who listen to crazy noise-rock & have like ZERO school spirit, reminding me more of my own youth than ones that dwell on cheerleading and who's taking who to the prom. It's very funny, poignant and beautifully written.

Help promoting my MTF transformation series

It's a new gender bender series ANEMONE that's on Smashwords/Amazon. Here's the synopsis if you're interested...
Dr. Belspur is a reserved, well-respected professor at a university who has one problem. A freak chemical accident has left him with the ability to transform into a young sexy blonde that drives men wild. Now he’s desperately trying to control his power, hide his alter ego from his family, and resist the urge to make out with his handsome coworker. It’s a gender bender tale with a tantalizing twist.
I'd love help promoting it to call more attention to the gender bender genre. If you're interested I'd send you the full file for the first episode for free. You can contact me at jessieash971(@)yahoo.com. FYI...it's right here on Bigcloset.
