I don't play EVE
Am not in to a lot of games, but you can only play so much Windows* Solitaire---which I still do some daily....lol---and finally gave in to a friend's request to try World of Warcraft. Took a long time for me to figure it out enough to find some enjoyment out of playing it. But income has become an issue and so I searched for something different to try and so far the game RIFT has had some staying power---Free to Play... F2P.
Never tried EVE, but Google* searched and found an interesting article.

Don't think this game is for me and not just because it has a subscription fee.
We all have needs, but we all don't need the same things exactly.

MMORPG's
I only play 2 of them. Both by Turbine, Lord of the Rings Online which can be played free (I have a lifetime sub) and I recently reactivated my Asheron's Call 1 main sub. AC has gone FtP in that for 9.95 anyone who had a sub can now make a one time payment to re-activate their account and then play for free. Anyone who has never played AC can also make a one time purchase of 9.95 to start a new account.
I never played Eve but WoW you could not pay me enough to play that game.
I have been interested.
I have been interested in joining. I have done some research and I do know that the game is not for the faint of heart. There is real political interests in those that play and many have been known to be spy's on spy's in the game.
For your info there is a video of where a major and I do mean major skirmish had taken place years ago all do the failure of payment on one planet. In the end the cost in real dollars was over 1.5 million, estimate. This was due to the loss of large ships that are not built instantly but over time and resources.
So if you do decide to play be aware that much time and effort will be placed on you.
And for another reason I do play WoW. No I don't live in a basement, with my mother and such. For those that do know me I have kids and a life. Its just a great enjoyment for me to play and it has helped me keep my sanity through various rough portions of my life.
Besides where else can I play a luscious, bodacious woman with skimpy armor, killing mindlessly on some poor senseless soul? Yes I know there are many others out there. But I've been there for years and its my pref.
