No truth be known
There is no truth one can know until they have faith. The ones who gave us shelter and comfort in life will be missed until our time has run its course. The memories you carry are his legacy to the world.
Father grant this child comfort in these times of loss of a loved one.

I am the watcher on the walls, I am the sword in the darkness,
And now begins my watch.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
In every generation, it falls on a small percentage of our people to stand between the darkness and the light. We call these people soldiers, sailors, airmen, etc.
I am proud to be able to count myself as one of that number - and I am proud to know that your father is numbered among my brothers and sisters. The best man I ever knew stood next to me, watching over me throughout every conflict in which we took part. He stood watch over me so that I might do my job and save others, and he fell doing his job. I know that he still watches over me today, and I know that when my time comes he will be there before me watching my back as I knew he always was before.
Remember, your father did that which his honor required of him, and he will always be watching over you and your family - still doing his job.
Please accept the condolences of this tired vet.

P.s. - I love you Tommy. Keep watch over the boys for me, and tell them I miss them all. I'll be seeing you all soon enough.

How Timely...
...coming so close on the heels of Memorial Day and the 70th anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy, I'm grateful for the service and sacrifice of the members of the Military on this site as well as the sacrifice many relatives and friends and comrades made on my behalf. But also so timely because of the things going on in your life, my dear Dalla, and how those events and words are moving you into a place of wholeness and restoration. I can't begin to thank you for your sacrifice and those of the others. I am reminded of an apocryphal quote, which none the less rings true for me and I pray others as well; from an essay by Richard Grenier:
"As George Orwell pointed out,
people sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready (around the world ) to do violence on their behalf."
Thank you!
Love, Andrea Lena
