I know it seems disloyal but I visit TGStoryTime from time to time. There's a link there from the Home page here. It's another story site and hosted by Joe SixPack. However it's suddenly become unavailable and leads me to a site called HostGator.com and generates a 403 Forbidden error. I visited it earlier today with no problem. Any ideas?

HostGator/AIG

Piper's picture

HostGator is a hosting company. Part of the AIG group whom can be very nasty and impatient when it comes to monthly payments.

BTW. I thought i should mention, that none of the admin team here feel your are disloyal. We feel there are enough authors for everyone, and as an FYI, I wrote the software they use for ePub Downloads. :) ( http://storyportal.net/software/epub/ )

I've seen that gator before there and elsewhere. Hopefully things will be taken care of. It's not BCTS, but it's an opportunity to reach some other readers.

Portia

I saw that happen once to

I saw that happen once to that site and when it came back it had a not from the admins saying that the site triggered a server overload and was taken offline by the host.

I think it might have happened again.

403

Joe posted that this might happen there are automatic flooding protection that automatically takes the page offline. It will be back soon.

Was Brandwidth Issue

Robin may have hear it from me.

But, according to Joe Six Pack, it was the host complaining, about the bandwidth that Story Time was using.

So, in Joe's own words, the site is back up and ruuning.

A case of the hiccups

Everything's fine, just file it all under "growing pains." With a steady increase in traffic, we still have yet to figure out what we need for server strength.
