Never too old to learn

Despite my ever-increasing middle age, today I learnt something new.

I was doing some research for Julia's planned #13 when the phone rang.

I put the mouse down and went across to the instrument where it was resting on its charger.

It was a wrong number!

I went back to the computer and discovered that the act of putting the mouse down had in fact selected some resource that I had not wanted.

A sentence caught my eye, and I went further into it.

I never knew that roses do NOT have thorns.

Seriously!

Those annoyingly piercing things are called prickles, and not thorns.

I can think of at least 3 popular songs that are factually incorrect, now!

Something learnt today, then!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Quite correct.

Now if these pointy things grew on members of the allium family would we get prickled onions? Or on members of the liliaceae would they be pricalily?

Super thoughts, Ms. A

... thanks for the smiles. D.
