but I find myself wondering... How many of you have done what I do? While walking through the mall, I look for the SRU store. Not seriously, mind you... well, sort of not seriously. I actually wouldn't know what to do if I actually found one. I know it's just fiction, but... you know?

Strang

Your not by yourself on that one. I've read so many stories with that store and the wizard I would probably run if I ever saw the store in a mall. And that is not running to the store either.

Reality check.

Cathy, I have a very tenuous hold on reality at the best of times. I'm not going to tempt fate by entering the realms of virtual lunacy by deliberately seeking out a real indication of insanity such as a door in some dark corner leading to a shop run by an old individual in a tatty bath-robe. Thanks but no thanks Cathy.

Fictional?

Nope. That's just what The Wizard wants you to think.

"In this universe there are many strange interesting things. I like to think I am one of those Strange interesting things. "

... that shop was in the mall that's very close to me. In fact, in another universe my wife and I met The Wizard there. See Portia and the Double Whammy for details. I'm still looking in this universe. Who knows?

Portia

Since truth

is often stranger than fiction, yes I do look. After all Cathy did find Bikini Beach, but unfortunately Grandmother and Anya weren't running the place. Besides like a commenter said, that Old Man had a reputation for being a heck of a trickster. You may think you're getting what you want, but as he points out as you walk though the door he has a real good idea of how the future is going to turn out. With the Wizard, yes, the deck is stacked, loaded, and armed!

Would I go in? I don't think I could help myself. Buy what's he's offering? That's a tough one. Refer to what I said about the deck of cards being stacked against you. Being respectful and not a smart arse would be difficult because I would be trying to get a treat without getting a trick.

It's the old genie wish question again, but in this case it's a blind grab-bag with whatever he offers you.

Important safety tip! If he tells you to read all the directions, pull out the magnifying glass and read every line ... twice!
