Hi all, I'm looking for a story, in three parts, I believe, about a man with a preternaturally sharp sense of smell who undergoes a gender change in a perfume making lab so he can help catch a killer. I cannot, for the life of me, remember the name of the story or author.

Very good story. Though the poster who's asking got things slightly confused. Originally he was there just to do the tests over, but as a female, to compare the difference between feminine and masculine senses of smell.

Whilst there, the women at the business doing the research start being raped but being unable to control their own sexual "need" for the rapist and our awesome sniffer winds up involved and eventually solving the problem.

Thank you. It's been quite awhile since I read the first part of the story. Through various vagaries of life I never got the chance to finish it but it had been on my mind.
