Green

Green is one of my favorite colors, however, this is the one day of the year that I REFUSE to wear any green. Until my father was stationed at Ft Deven's Ma, I mostly attended Department of Defence, Dependent's Schools and had no problems with teachers mis-spelling my last name. However, when I started attending school in MA my teachers kept spelling my last name as Mc which is the Irish way of spelling. However, I am not Irish but of Scots decent and my last name begins with Mac (us Scots know how to spell Mac...) All through the school year they would keep spelling my name with Mc and I would keep correcting them so when St Patrick's day came that first year I made sure to wear orange. I am proud of my Scots heritage so since EVERYONE kept insisting that I was Irish 364 days out of the year, on this one particular day of the year I go out of my way to show that I am NOT Irish.

Kiss me...

...(like I posted elsewhere)... Kiss ME! I'm Arberesh/Sicilian, Scots-Irish, English German and a smattering of African-American. :)

You too as well :)

Is fearr Gaeilge briste, ná Béarla clíste.

Broken Irish is better than clever English.

Ditto Payter

I've got a little English on my grandfather's side, the rest is Swiss and Norwegian (mostly Norwegian). I'm happy I don't have any Irish tainting my heritage; besides I look bad in green.
