It seems those lovely people, the Taliban, have murdered three polio vaccination workers in Pakistan, who were running innoculation programmes. How these stupid morons can behave so wickedly to people who are trying to save their lives and those of their children, completely defeats me.

As you said there is only one answer. There are Evil people in this world. It has little to do with religion or ethnicity. As we were all shocked to see Evil reared it ugly head on Friday in Connecticut in an upper middle class (perhaps wealthy)community.

Not that I disagree that it's evil ...
... but unfortunately the CIA have screwed it up for everyone. Below is a link to one highly publicised event where they tried to use vaccinations as a cover for getting DNA evidence on bin Laden, but it's been reported elsewhere that the CIA have interviewed vaccination workers on leaving Afghanistan for general information like number of people at certain locations.

The intersection of stupidity (or madness) and firepower is indeed evil.
The same evil...
that murders school girls. The same evil that destroys centuries old religious artifacts not of their own faith. The same evil that kills medical relief workers. The same evil that stones rape victims to death. And the frighteningly sad thing about it all is that they often do these horrible acts without thought of their own lives; anonymity being so that their families remain safe since many of them have no compunction of killing themselves in the commission of this evil. Nearly endless resources along with unbridled determination makes a very volatile combination indeed, as Pippa notes.

only advocating for education for girls.
